First of all, that man's name is David Sweat. His partner-in-crime's name was Richard Matt. There was no Matt Sweat. Second, that wasn't two 556 rounds to chest. That was two .45 ACP rounds to the chest, from Sgt. Jay Cook's pistol at 73 yards. I do suspect 556 injuries would be slightly different.

Yeah, just heard the NZ PM on the radio. She's asking people to turn in their guns while they decide how much freedom they are going to take from them. Assuming that every gun is already registered, that leaves little wiggle room for the average gun owner. Seems like a typical western governmental response these days, a guy goes on a rampage, crazy or part of a larger more diabolical plan is incidental, so lets disarm loyal law abiding citizens at a time when they just might need them. Or when planes fly into skyscrapers, let's make a law that strips citizens of their constitutional rights, name that law something catchy that reflects love of country and exponentially expand the enforcement of those illegal laws.
We are being played. The frog is in the pot and it's getting much hotter.

He could not run a shotgun and he didn't appear to be trained more than a guy who's been to the range a bit. He walked down the middle of the hall. A trained opponent (armed of course) could have taken him out easily. The reason he was calm and relaxed is because he's a sociopath and more. Not some special forces vet.

Agreed, the consensus among experts seems to be that he's just a cold-blooded killer who knows how to operate his guns.

I don't see that. At 7:45 he takes a full 16 seconds or so for a mag change. Granted at that time everyone in the room is on the floor dead, wounded, or playing dead in a pile, and he seems to be taking his sweet time, but in a different circumstance that would provide a crucial window of opportunity. In fact at the second mosque where he killed seven, a worshiper who confronted him throwing objects including one of Tarrant's own discarded guns apparently caused him to leave the scene and head to the next target during a break in shooting.

So yeah, he doesn't demonstrate any elite professional training. This is simply a potential result when you have a sociopath meeting a soft target calculating to inflict maximum loss of life.

I’ve never been in the military and I’m not a gamer so I’ve never seen anything like this before except for hollywoods movies which are more graphic. Only thing is you know it’s real!

I didn't actively seek out the video but it was on a site I frequent. I thought it was the first few seconds or whatever that was on FB Live until FB turned it off. I then sat and watched in stunned silence the whole rest of the video. Two things struck me quickly - the utter calm the guy was in while shooting these people multiple times, and the complete lack of any hope these people had. Two masses of people stuck in the corners of this mosque, and he's walking in and out and all around, calmly loading them all up w/ multiple rounds each. It was fucking disgusting. I can't imagine how helpless these people felt, especially after he went in the 2nd time and shot the people who hid until he left the first time. I don't ever want to feel that helpless. If I ever get shot by some maniac, I hope that it's because he shot me in an exchange of me trying to defend myself and/or others. I don't want to die like a fish in a barrel.

This particular event may have happened in New Zealand, but its INTENDED AUDIENCE IS AMERICA. The shooter wasn't concerned with the policies of New Zealand, his intent was to affect the policies in the U.S.

Yup, agreed. I don't like to say that it's going to happen again, but it will. You reap what you sow. I'm not saying they deserve whatever happens because that's shitty to say and think, but I don't see how their gov't can pull this move and keep everyone safe.
