Actually, I have the same preference. I sold a shotgun last year for a few reasons, one of them being it had a pistol grip that loved to make my old friend Arthur I. Tis act up. What it did not have though was a bad arse OEM folding stock like this, marked "For Law Enforcement Only". I figure if nothing else, this will make my 870 Express synthetic look cool (and maybe even easy to conceal). I may have to put it on the 870 for at least awhile to play with it. Anyway, I have another older 870 Express that has the regular stock on it that I use for hunting and such. I could use the one with this stock for home defense or just to look tacticool at the range. Did I actually just write that, I truly hate looking the tacticool fool.I voted sell it. I like regular shotgun stocks over pistol grips.
You might never suffer seller's remorse if you hang onto things like that. There's nothing wrong with having stuff just because you like it. Having it say 'Law Enforcement Only' is good enough reason to keep it!
I've got a Mossberg 500 that I bought used 20 something years ago with a pistol grip on it. The guy I got it from threw in some magnum loads with it. The first time I shot it it split open the web of my hand between my thumb and pointer finger. I've since swapped the pistol grip for a youth stock (compact & handy), but I can't bring myself to get rid of the pistol grip even though I'll probably never use it again.
No. But i might be diagnosed as a hoarder. You might never suffer seller's remorse if you hang onto things like that.
It is the old beater that I would keep original (except I once refinished the wood on it) and maybe put in on a much newer once as far as my 870s go.I would keep it just for the novelty of it. Maybe even throw it on an old beater.
