I saw it. Not right if it was intentionally to step on it. I don’t think she intentionally stepped on it. However it was thrown to the ground because it was attached to the pole. A weapon. That’s why they had an issue when another protestor attempted to pick it up. And yes, people have attacked cops with flag poles at demonstrations.
They were not enforcing covid restrictions. They were enforcing the business property rights and were called there by the business. No different than if people were protesting inside a gun store and the gun store calls the police to get them to leave.

She absolutely stomped the flag on purpose. I have no issue taking the pole away. I was hit with a similar flagpole, last year during the Buffalo protests; I did not throw the flag on the ground, not did I stomp it .
I do not care why the police were there, I care about the way they treated the people. I care about the blatantly disrespectful manner in which they handle themselves.

I disagree that she intentionally did so. I’m looking where she is facing when her feet were trampling it. She wasn’t looking at the flag/ground nor looking at one individual as if in defiance. She was speaking to multiple people who were coming from multiple directions. And she came in after one of the protesters attempted to pick up the pole from the ground. Go look at it again, what she is saying and doing when her feet make contact with the flag. Go look at it again.
And video lied. He was charged with trespassing. Not for a vax mandate violation . The business told him to leave and he refused. They enforced the business property rights.

I have witnessed many departments do nothing to violate the Rights of the people. These incidents all stem from the mask mandates, so yes, in a round sort of way, these officers are enforcing the BS mask mandates and they should be ashamed and embarrassed.
Ignore the calls, that is an option, put yourself out with a different incident, say you are in the middle of traffic, I don't care; stop going to these calls.

If a business says I won’t serve people of a certain race, the police would still have to make the people leave. They can refer people to the proper authorities to complain to but they would still have to leave. In some places, the police can shut down the business but the people would still have to leave .
The business owner is the one enforcing the covid restrictions and call the police to kick the people out.

Now for the ignore the call. How do you think the call comes over?
The restaurant would be a disorderly group, trespasser, or just a dispute. It wouldn’t come over the air as a covid call. And somebody has to go. It would go eventually to the sergeant who isn’t going to like getting that call and will make sure the officers under him know it. And remember, the police are often IG to let the people leave. They don’t have to. They can make an immediate arrest if the business already told them to leave. The people who got arrested refused to leave.
I know how calls come in. I get it. I also get that once they arrive and see what the truth is, they can chose one of two options:
Be complete douche bags, or
Be decent to the people they serve.
They seem to always chose to be douche bags. They ripped the flag out of the Veterans hands, they could have asked first. There was absolutely no reason to throw the flag on the ground. There was even less reason to walk all over it and stomp on it. You can defend them until you are blue in the face, that is all on you. We will disagree on this till the end.
She is a disgusting POS as far as I am concerned as are all of the officers that were there and did nothing about her actions.
We are losing faith and confidence in the public, these actions of the NYPD and many other departments are not assisting.
I can post video after video of the horrible treatments people have endured during Covid by these officers; they need to be better and they need to be more professional.

My main issue is the way they are going about it all. They are terrorizing some people over these masks.
I am in the same type of employment as you were prior to your retirement, I understand much of the job.
A bit of professionalism in these trying times goes a long way. So many do not even try to diffuse and talk to people.

Maybe, maybe not. Some businesses in NYC were refusing to serve people before it was official. Same as the mask mandates.
And yes, businesses are being forced to do so by the health department just like businesses don’t let people under 21 in their establishments. Why? Fear that they might get fined and lose their liquor license even if they don’t serve the person under 21 alcohol.
That is not the officers fault the business wants the person off their property. If the business decides not to take the chance of getting fined, should they be forced to take that risk ? The people who refuse to leave are demanding that of that business. The police are only there to make the people leave as per the business owners choice.
The NYPD does not, nor most police departments in NY , fine the business. And those people were given a chance to leave before they were arrested. Thats the part of the film you don’t see.
I am amazed, not really, that you are near defending these cops that stomped the US flag on camera.

They aren’t. Just the fact you went to “ unprofessional without seeing the whole story says a lot.
I worked a place with 35 to 40 radio runs a night per sector. And I worked a place with maybe 5 . One place you have time and another place you don’t . And even then, people don’t want to listen and basically “ask “to be arrested . You have a person resisting arrest with a potential weapon in their hand. Her feet on the flag was not intentional. Go look at the video again. She isn’t “stomping” on it. She is turning to address what is going on around her. Go look again and listen.
And the situation was a staged protest. Not people just looking to eat.

It wasn't the train drivers fault that the people in the cattle cars he was hauling were going to die after he delivered them either.
But it is his fault for participating.
Right down to the guy who shoveled the coal into the locomotive, and even the secretary who wrote out the schedule, everyone who supported the operation had blood on their hands.
You are responsible for everything you support. If you can't trust that the people issuing you orders aren't evil, then you quit. If you value your pension or your mortgage more than basic human rights, then you are evil too.

I’ve worked in the burbs too. It’s different in part because of the volume.
Go look at the video again. One cop pulls the pole out of the person’s hand as that person resist arrest. Another protester attempts to pick it up, that’s when the female cop stops him. She saw it as someone picking up a potential weapon as opposed to someone just picking up the flag. She drops it so her hands are free and deals with the protestors around her. That’s when her feet were on the flag. She isn’t stomping the flag. She is turning around to deal with the people around her.
Remember that they are already resisting arrest . And it was planned protest and not people looking to get something to eat.

It’s not even remotely the same as driving the train to the concentration camps. The business owner wants them out. That simple. Now, if the police were giving fines to the business, you would have a case. But they aren’t . In fact, unlike most, the police are in court fighting the mandates .
Go look up who shut down Mac’s z public House when he refused to do the covid mandates. It was not the NYPD. Why is that? Because they aren’t enforcing it. Either are most police departments.

Sure, there are lots of cool aid drinkers in NYC. Probably lots of businesses who think the unvaxed should just be shot in the street and really do want the people gone.
But, statistically the vast majority would not want those guys removed it the government hadn't threatened them.

There weren’t “ cops “. The NYC sheriffs department. They aren’t like sheriffs deputies in most places. They were brought in . Not real cops . Process servers and evictions is what they do. Not cops. Go ask one of them how many arrests they have made in their entire career. I think most of you would be surprised how low that number is. Many of them have never made one.
