Metal guns seem to be making a come back, especially with competition shooters. Two of my friends have this Sig p320 AXG. Me I have an old S&W 6906 that I shoot better then any of my polymer striker fired pistols, I wouldn't mine picking up it's big brother a 5906.

I just have a mental block against metal framed striker fired guns. Or polymer framed hammer fired guns for that matter. I don't know why, I can't explain it but to me polymer=strikers, metal=hammers and never the twain shall meet.
That said the AXG looks really nice. I do really like the P320 in general also.

Makes sense, my mind goes there too. Polymer=striker fired and metal=hammer fired. That’s what most are with a few weird cross overs.

Here's the thing though- I certainly can't reproach the H&K USP nor can I say I wouldn't like the AXG here. It's a nonsensical hangup, but it is one that I have nonetheless. I certainly wouldn't turn down either of the above mentioned pistols though.

Oh absolutely I get what your saying. It’s just in my mind, and it appears in yours when you hear a polymer gun you think striker fired and when you hear metal gun you think hammer fired. There are always exceptions to the rules like all democrats are bad, wait no there’s no exception there.
