Sig P322

Recently picked up the Sig P322. It looked pretty cool and I happened to find one at the LGS when passing through. I ended up walking out with it. Brought the pistol home, took it apart and wiped it down quick with some CLP. I like the pistol, feels good, decent sites and I don’t mind the trigger at all. Today, went out to run 50 rounds through right quick. Had 11 light hammer strikes out of the 50 rounds…and the fired rounds look like light hits too. For arguments sake I’m going to run some different ammo through it tomorrow but damn.

I don't know what it is about Sig where they just can't make a decent .22? The Mosquito was crap too. That's why I went with the Ruger Mark IV.

For the record, I have several Sigs in centerfire calibers and all are excellent.

The P322 is very nice otherwise. I have a few other 22 pistols too but I had higher hopes for this gun. Might send it to Sig.

Glad you posted this. I was thinking of grabbing one of these. I heard they had that problem early on but I also heard they fixed it. Hope you get it ironed out. I had a Walther 22 that was unreliable at first. I just kept running and cleaning it and it’s become almost flawless so maybe just keep shooting it and see what happens

My M&P 22 is fussy about ammo, but runs CCI Mini Mags without a hiccup! The old Ruger mkll eats anything. So yes try some different ammo CCI is your best bet.

I have a 365 and a 365xl and on one of the guns I was getting some light strokes as well. I searched it on the web and everyone said to take the striker out and clean the striker and the channel, sure enough it was dirty as fuck on the one. I put a bunch of solvent in the striker channel, douche it with a Q-tip and then cleaned the striker with solvent and a brass brush. It’s great now. I’d look into doing this if I were you.

Strange, my M&P 22 has been great. Very few issues. My Rugers, from the standard to iv have been awesome.
I’ll give the P322 a good cleaning this morning and shoot some this afternoon.

I came across this thread from Sigtalk. Maybe you'll find some useful info in it. Seems like a fairly common issue. Ammo brand dependency is not an acceptable fix, but it may be the way to get the gun broken in and a few of those strikes you posted didn't look terrible.

After cleaning it went out today. It ran 50 rounds of CCI just fine. Tried to run another 10 rounds of Aguila and had 3 FTF. Put those 3 in my Ruger Mark 4 and they went bang. Comparison below of CCI cases and Aguila FTF. Even tried to hit one twice.

This thread saved me some money today. lol There was one for sale at the gunshow today for a really reasonable price of $419 and i had cash in hand but i passed. I’ll probably regret it but we’ll see

It really is a fun pistol. It's probably going to turn into a pretty good and cheap trainer when you don't want to spend money on 9mm.

I'm hoping mine likes federal bulk.....

I called sig on my 365 that had light strikes as well and they were fantastic. I never did end up sending the gun in but I had a few questions and concerns. The guy on the phone spent a good bit of time with me and heard me out. He explained how the gun works and I decided not to send it in and it’s fine. The 365’s have a slanted firing pin and it makes the primers look really weird and my striker assembly doesn’t have a return spring and everything on line said it should have it so I thought my pin was hanging up. They changed the assembly and dropped the return spring.

It feels very good and shoots well. As previously stated the fiber optic sights are decent with a decent trigger. Just wish it would eat all the ammo I would throw at it.

Yes they are, and they work well of course having the slide milled would be better.

That is not encouraging. You may have gotten a lemon. I would call SIG.

Wow. I called the hotline when I had questions and spoke to an American man that was very helpful. I would reach out via phone if you can. They have a place on their website that tells you when calls volumes are low and I took advantage of that. My call was answered in two minutes or less.
