Sig P365 XMacro

Need any suggestions. I’m in NY and l would like to buy an Sig P365 XMacro. But it comes with only 17 round mags, that as you know, we cannot have. So far know one well ship the gun without the magazines. Why, I don’t know. Any suggestions on how to legally get a XMacro? Thanks John

Well, not sure what your options are but we have FFL's locally that will accept the hi-cap mags and block them to 10 rounds. I recently got a nice CZ Shadow that comes standard with 17 round mags and were blocked to 10 by my gun shop. Maybe forum members in your area can help out?

What’s the point of a Macro in NYS if you can’t put the 17 round magazines on there? Just go with the 365X (shorter barrel/slide) or XL longer barrel/slide) if you want a bigger grip module than the original P365.

I absolutely LOVE my 365X and thinks it’s one of, (if not the very best,) micro 9s for EDC.

If you get an X or XL model you can put the FCU into several different grip modules to suit your hand, wallet and sense of fashion. Amazing platform, but the Macro is just a silly option for a NYS resident as it brings nothing to the table besides a name. Grip module is ever-so-slightly different than the X/XL version, but that’s it. And you can make 10 rounders work in a Macro, but again, why? You can put a Prius engine in a Corvette, too. But why?

Yes I have some sigs. Not a fan of sig the company but I like the guns and they fit my hand well. I wouldn’t call myself an sig fanboy so this review is objective and these guns are the only sigs I have. Not offended by the he’s an sig guy comment but I just want to be clear I don’t love the company but I do love the guns.
Here is what I have and what I did. I wanted the reverse of the macro and 365x with the shorter grip and longer slide so I bought a 365xl and a 365 because why not right?
I have to say I love any combination of the guns. I like the longer slide on the shorter grip, the shorter slide on the longer grip, the 365 and the 365 xl as they come from the factory. If I had it to do all over again I’d buy the sig 365xl and the Wilson combat 365 and 365xl grip module and see what you like the best. IMO the Wilson combat grip module and the tungsten weight kits are a must. The Wilson combat grip is fantastic. I also bought the extended magazine release for both guns and that’s a must for me since I have short thumbs. I also bought the flat trigger for my 365 so both guns have the same triggers and I liked the flat one best.
The only draw back to the 365xl is the mags are tough to come by and I searched many websites to find them for weeks. I bought four extras and proven arms was the only place I found them.

The macro is much more expensive and I agree with every word spoken here. Instead of the macro cough up a couple hundred more and buy one of each. The holsters for the XL for both the 365 and 365 xl.

I was told that the 10 rounder mags from the P365sas would work as long as you add a mag extension onto it. So I bought one of of eBay. I really like the XMacro comp.

The SAS is an anti-snag exterior. It has no takedown lever, and the sights are extremely minimal and smoothed. Magazines are totally irrelevant and have nothing to do with being an “SAS mag.” If you want to use regular P365X/XL magazines, you can add a gigantic base pad from Tactical Development to make it work.

No problem. I know how it can be to want a certain gun. Being able to make it work is a great feature of the entire 365 lineup. An X Macro in NYS is a lot like having a house that you’re not allowed to use 4 out of 5 rooms, but you still want that specific house. I get it. Hope you can find an X Macro and make it work for you.

That Icarus grip module is nice. So are supercars from Ferrari, McLaren, and Bugatti. Imagine being told that you can buy one of those vehicles, but only put 10 gallons of gas in at a time, and never have more than 10 (plus one in the combustion chamber.) What a waste of a high performance machine.

Yes Wilson combat does and one other company does. I forget the company name.
The sas I thought had the same grip as the 365 so I don’t think the mags for the sas will for the macro but there are all sorts of doodads out there so I’m not sure.
If you really like macro buy one and have the mags limited by an FFL or do what I did. It’s essentially the 365 slide milled for an optic with the 365xl grip. It’s slightly different maybe but that’s essentially the gun minus the compensator.

I have a Glock 19 I’m trying to sell. I just like the way the Sigs look and feel in my hand. Also, someone mentioned why buy a hi cap gun in NY if you can only carry 10 rounds in it. But alot of the gun that we own, in another state you could have it with hi cap mags. ( This is all Sig Sauer fault. They should’ve made the gun with a 10 rounder in the first place. ) Have a nice night everyone. John

Yes, your point about capacities is valid. The advice you’ve been given in this thread, though, refers to NOT gaining any capacity or advantage by going through the hassle of acquiring a variant of the venerable 365 series which provides no actual benefit compared to a P365XL with an aftermarket grip module. But I get it. Some guys just like how a gun looks on InstaBookPage and just gotta have the latest Reddit trend. And some guys just like how a gun fits their hand(s) and the features it has. And, let’s face it, we all like guns that look cool AND run well. :cool: I say no matter which 365 you buy, you’re gonna love it. I’d buy one o& every variant (or have the easily interchangeable parts to make each one) if my wallet was serious about it. :ROFL:

I do like the look of the 365 macro and you can buy the 365/365xl and add the macro slide. I thought about doing that for my 365 instead of sending it out to be milled but everyone wants $500-$550 for the slide. I never sent out my slide to be milled and I likely won’t. If you want a compensated pistol the macro is the way to go
I will be buying another 365xl before all this NYSP as point person for the NICS checks occur because my son wants one when he gets his permit in a year or so. I want to be sure he gets one if he wants one. If he never gets his permit then I have two and that’s fine with me.
