So I have wanted a Nintendo gun for quite some time now mostly thinking of a 2011, and I would see some nice ones but they never just completely did it for me. Well I deff think I have found that special one (or 3-4 depending on how you look at it)

Fire 4 Effect is now doing up a sweet limited class blaster off the CZ Shadow 2

So this beast is what had my eye right now.

As for the 3-4 reference I want to see how this custom shadow holds up against the CGW "Black Shadow 2" (with the addition of what comes on the f4f ie magwel, racker, and gas pedal) and the CZC which ever their version is (thier line up is even more difficult to figure out than CZ's)

And then again #4 would also be most deff a czechmate which i think this f4f offering is more closely competing with

Granted the only thing I'm not sold on on this new offering is it is in .40sw and that is a gross stupid round. But I get why people shoot it in competition, especially if you add a compensator (but id much rather one in 9mm and shoot majo pf)


Oh and lastly I might need to look into even starting to get into competition shooting, meh I'll save that for another time

CZ nomenclature baffles me. What is a Phantom vs Shadow? Is the above basically a modded Tactical Sport Orange? Cause I want one of the latter as well for a range gun.

Ok so I did some more reading and it isn't fair to put this limited gun against the CGW shadow, since they are using a TS

Yes It is a charging handle on the side and they also have the thumb rest (gas pedal)

If I'm not mistaken as for a shadow vs phantom, shadow is all steal phantom is polymer

And finally, yes this is a completely tricked out Tactical Sport Orange

I don't think so, your thumb would be pretty much resting atop it already in a shooting grip.

Grip angle/grip itself lends me to not pointing the gun well. On top of the functionality I think they are uglier than Glocks. I know this is a personal opinion and shouldn't play as much of a factor as it is.

You must be mad or you simply had all of your formative gun handling on Glocks. The CZ grip angle is less steep, more akin to the 1911, which many prefer. CZs are also considered to be some the, if not THE, most ergonomic pistols available. As opposed to Glocks which are, well, bricks. As far as looks..... I don't think this is even subjective.

I dunno. I'm not crazy about the scooped-out trigger guard there, but I guess it's minor. Love the orange color of the CZ in the original post.

If a Glock fits your hand well, I can see why a person wouldn't like the grip of the CZ. I love the idea of having a Glock, but that grip is so uncomfortable it actually hurt my hand when I tried one. I'd probably like the CZ grip. The R1 1911 is comfortable for me, even shooting .45. Still love my PX4 better than anything else, though.

If a Glock fits your hand well, I can see why a person wouldn't like the grip of the CZ. The biggest complaint most people have is that the trigger is set forward and can be a bit of a reach. That scooped out area makes it a bit easier to reach around it. But notice how just about every edge is radiused. I've fondled CZs, the P01 in particular, and I've also fired a few. The really are amazing pistols to hold and shoot. The Glock is a stalwart, if utilitarian, tool you have to get accustomed to. A CZ feels like you were born holding it. I must get one!

This is the gun that the one in the OP was developed from:
It's a CZ custom shop model, a true factory race gun meant for high end production class competition. It is a counterpart to the Sig Sauer X series pistols. But at around 1,700 retail is considerably cheaper. A gun like this would be almost cheating in our monthly matches!

Despite having somewhat stumpy fingers I haven't found the CZ trigger to be an ergonomic impediment for me.
I'm thinking that when I'm ready, after my bank account has recovered from the NYGF AR build, I will get a custom P01 from Cajun Gun Works. It seems that the fully tricked version is including the pistol at $1,100 despite what I had though previously. I don't know if that's with the Heine straight 8 sights though. And I'd want the bronze aluminum grips instead of the black, which is on offer from CGW.

Handsome ain't they.

I find the opposite to be true. Notwithstanding looks the CZ's come up to target naturally for me. The Glock...not so much.

Same here. I never liked the Da/Sa trigger on any guns. I prefer a consistent trigger pull. My Sig is SAO and my CZ is striker fired.

Oh I like the DA/SA action. In fact I want to get back to it. I just find that manual safeties and DA/SA are superfluous features to each other. A DA/SA needs a decocker if some kind.

Now that's a race gun! If you're looking to get into competition shooting, your CZ P07 is more than adequate. Not sure where you are in New York but theres plenty of clubs that run Steel Challenge and USPSA matches monthly. IMO it's some of the best fun you can have with a gun.

Oh I know this is a race gun and I've always wanted a race gun and do plan to use my P-07 and maybe my G17 in some local matches of what ever kind i can find, my club has them all the time and a few other clubs in the area I'm betting also have some

Well it's not designed for carry, but competition in a race holster to assist in faster reloads

For example, if you have to start with the gun unloaded, it is faster to use the charging handle to release or rack the slide while bringing the gun up to shoot. It is also a clear advantage when you are starting with the gun rested on a table as it elevates the gun to get a much better grip faster before engaging the targets. Other than that, if you have a gun belt that can hold up a gun that weighs 13oz. more than a full sized 1911 I have to know what it is!
