just got my Bob Sleds in. They only allow single shots to be loaded. Going to fix them into a couple of lowers for loading longer than magazine length loads.

Yep, they allow you to run really long bullets without fumbling around with the standard magazine. My 1-6 twist 223 upper will reside on a purpose built lower to shoot 80 grain sierras and 90 grain burgers. The 24 inch Bull barreled DPMS 308 upper will be sitting on the other purpose built lower. It will allow me to take advantage of some really long bullets.
Trying to get my DPMS 308 below an inch at 400 yards.
Interesting. I gotta ask though wouldn't a bolt action be better suited for this task?

Yeah I do have bolt guns to play with to do this but, the 24 inch AR 308 is nothing more than a bench gun anyway. So I am going to play with it. Would be nice to use a gas gun in my club's scoped rifle competitions. Just for the hell of it.

Forgive my ignorance, I stopped caring about unSAFE when I moved, but if I fix the mag I can have the muzzle device, pistol grip and collapseable stock? Whatever I do its gotta be easily reversible or its not worth it.

Just loaded up some 80 and 90 grain 223 rounds. Will have to wait until tomorrow to send them down range though. Can't wait hopefully it will not be too windy, I loaded the ladder with AA 2520 five of each weight so I can see what my groups look like and where my pressure signs develop.
