My wife has a s&w mp9c that she has rarely shot, maybe 10 mags.....but I doubt it. So this pistol is in almost new condition. What kind of trade in value would this pistol have?

The prices in the $400s are for NIB guns.
If it's really in like new condition you could try for $300 or so. If you take it to a shop I doubt they would offer you anything worthwhile.
The Buffalo Gun Center would likely offer you $1 and a used condom for it!

My friends wife is bugging me to buy it for her husband. I would sell it to her for whatever I was offered by trading it in. $250 too much? I’ll keep it for a $1 and a used condom lol

I heard you don’t get much trading guns in at shops. Try to sell it on here. It will sell I’m sure. I agree $300 sounds about right. The new 2.0’s are selling for $350 with a rebate right now.

I’m normally don’t sell or trade guns. I’m not looking to make money on my friends but there comes a point where it’s not worth selling. If I was offered $200 for a trade in, I would just keep it. Looking to help her out but I’m not giving it away.
Why not sell it to her for $275 then? It's a good price that helps her out but makes you a decent chunk. I think you'll find that the 2.0 versions along with the new G19 sized M&P "compact" will have depressed the market for the 1.0 (sub)compacts anyway.

Good gun, it treated me well in a training class and at the range. (except for the time I got pinched while reloading during the class! I blame my sausage fingers and the smaller grip)
I haven't heard if they're making a 2.0 version.. the 2.0 Compact seems to be doing well at nearly the same size (15 rounds compared to 12 I think in 1.0? in free states at least).
Still waiting for FUACing 10-rounders for the 2.0 Compact....

The new M&P 2.0 compact is now a Glock 19 equivalent, where as the old M&P "compact" was actually a subcompact equivalent to the Glock 26.
