So my gun club has been threatened with a Lawyer

We have a 400 yard range complex and are wanting to extend it to 500 yards with a 600 yard safety berm. Well the neighbors are threatening to get a lawyer to stop us. I may have to start a go fund me page to help out with the legal fees should they convince a judge to stop us.

They think it will be dangerous for the club to have 500 yard line with a 600 safety berm. I told em before you get too upset why don't you meet me at the club and we can walk the ground and I can show you what we want to do. In the end if they get a lawyer it is what it is.

About 100 yards maybe a little more.

We are Berming up the property lines to prevent accidental incursion onto the impact area. To include new ditches to drain the land better. All part of improving safety and the land.

Do all you can to avoid the lawyer thing. Invite them to the club, buy them dinner, offer to plow their driveways, anything. They can make your existence miserable. Clubs need to make nice with their neighbors or they will be driven out of existence.

I think we are beyond that. I do bend over backwards to address their concerns. We have the land and would like to use it. I can't see it going too far. The club has been there since 78. It can be made into a very nice bench rest range with a little dozer work.

Like fences, good suppressors make good neighbors. The issues I've had with my neighbors have almost exclusively been around noise.

We already have no shooting before 9 any day and no shooting after dark or after 3 during deer season rules.

I just discovered their tracks when I was scouting the land with the contractor. We have told them that they need to keep their 4 wheelers and snowmobiles off the land before. The land is also posted for that and trespassing.

they have been attempting to get our land for a very long time. This is just another try at the apple.
