Yeah me too. We were not even planning on putting up target lines beyond 400 this year, we just wanted to stretch it out and berm it up while the dozer was there. We want to put in a road and take some timber off the land, improvements are a year to year thing as the money flows.

If that’s the case, the best option may be to build a giant cock tower on the range property. Not specifically too phallic that you can’t call it a shrine, but enough that it will lower their property values of surrounding homes to the point they move before it gets too low.

We have had the DEC (we invited them) out to the property to review what we want to do. They have no issues with it. We contacted the planning board and asked if there were any restrictions on our plans, there are not. So we are proceeding with our plans. We expect to get hit with a bunch of complaints as soon as the Dozer shows up on the land.
One of our neighbor clubs had this happen to them last year, they spent 25K defending themselves from frivolous complaints. We are going to set up a go fund me page to raise money for our legal defense. Once it is set up anyone who wants to help can PM me for details.
I am hoping we can raise 25K. All I ask is that people get the word out that we are in need of some help. If we can find 2500 people across America to give 10 bucks to the cause it would be a great morale boost to our club. As always all of you have had an invitation to come shoot at the club as my guest. I know there are not a lot of places to shoot farther than 100 yards. I am very lucky to have a place nearby and am going to do my best to defend it for future generations of shooters.

What did the neighbors spend the 25K on ? Did they have to go to court ? Is their saga over ? They had 9 people suing them for noise, and other things. I have set up a meeting with the officers of the neighboring club to get their lessons learned and their insights into our situation.

Get ready for some dumb ass made up story about a stray round hit their house. I make a point to confront these fuckers in public. I had an issue years back with my neighbor leaving a message on my phone stating that he had better not see my kids riding their 4 wheelers on his land. I made a point to run into him out in town and embarrassed the fuck out of him in front of his wife. Can't stand these types! Good luck with your range.

OK, so how about the first annual NYGF New Bremen Long Range Pig Roast fundraiser sometime in July or August? It's roughly 1-1/2 to 2 hours north from Utica. $20 to "reserve" a place on the firing line, and $10 to $12 gate to eat (making it somewhat family friendly. I'm not sure of current pig/chicken fundraiser pricing so adjust as needed)
Firing line can be any distance 100+ at the range of your choice, but will be scored by MOA Circle Center to Center, with a factor for wind and distance to be chosen by @dsdmmat. This way folks that can't make the drive can still contribute and have some fun doing it. Just my $0.02.

We have monthly shoots and I have offered the range up to host a shoot anytime you guys think you can put one together. I have steel targets 1,2,3,4,6, and 8 inch so if you want something like a NYGF steel shoot it is doable. I also have the chicken, pig, turkey and Ram for rimfire rifle.
