I don't single out Trump, because it has been consistent U.S. foreign policy to start trouble around the world, not just in the Middle East. As you get older and wiser you see this. It has nothing to do with defending freedom, ours or anyone else's. What makes it even worse our foreign policy is tide to four year election cycles. As was already pointed out, it will almost certainly cost American lives.

That guy killed Americans. We know it, Iran knows it. They are the ones that keep pushing things. Anyone in their right mind does not want war, and I don't believe it will come to that, some more tit for tat stuff, but then, they have been doing that all along anyway whether we respond or not, so this time we responded, we had to. They are a country torn, and without their boot on the neck of the people they will see what they did forty years ago happen to them, in spades, complete with public hangings. A war would by and large remove the boot and leave them vulnerable from inside and outside. All their whacky boasting aside, they know damn well they cannot survive a war with us, even without nukes it wouldn't last long. Taking them out would actually save lives in the long run, but it won't come to that.
