The police aren't out in SA arresting people for defending themselves and their property all while essentially turning a blind eye to the looters and not arresting any of them.
If the police here had the backs of the honest people instead of standing on them while a crook fucks them over you'd see a whole lot less innocent victims.
These looters are getting some good ol fashioned frontier justice.

Very poorly. Covid Impact on their economy substantial. Not sure how many in the country have it as the gov will lie no matter what. The next time they have an assembly with Kim and all senior leadership a tactical nuke would be a good restart for the country. They did get into arresting people who were trying to stop it though.
The McCloskys and Rittenhouses and probably a dozen others we never heard of didn’t arrest themselves.
I worry a lot more about what the government will do to me if I ever have to defend myself against some criminals than I do about the actual criminals.
Not that I am backing up what occurred, but, The McClosky's were not being looted.
Rittenhouse, The Police took him away, yes, but it was the DA that charged him.
I know there was some defending of property with no arrests. That is a fact. Not enough though.

And the fact that there was no looting at the McCloskys just means they were successful against the mob, but then the government came for them.

The "gun control debate" is never over...until firearms are only in the hands of those who would use them against a law-abiding, disarmed, citizenry.

You are probably going to get your wish. I follow a geo-political writer peter zeihan. His latest book predicts the US disengaging from the world. Specifically we won't be using our navy to guarantee freedom of the seas. Nations that rely on free trade for raw materials or exports of finished products will suffer the most as a result. He thinks there is a very high likelihood of famine in a number of countries in the near future. His main theme is the US will be ok because we are largely self dependant but most of the rest of the world is in trouble. Sobering reading.
Yes and no.
There is nothing wrong with helping truly oppressed people (not talking about "oppressed" as in lazy ass I don't want to work but want everything free "oppressed") gain freedom. I'd even say thats a great thing to do.
On the other hand, we shouldn't be bringing freedom to people that don't want it. If they don't want freedom, fine. We'll be here if you change your mind but until then you can live as you are.
