I have some Jewish friends, and it saddens me to write this. Every single one of them told me that they were against people owning handguns for self defense.
All of them expressed fatalistic views along the lines of “Oh well, if I get shot and wounded or even die, then that’s the way it was meant to be...”.
Even when I discussed realistic scenarios, as well as actual horrific events that have happened at Jewish houses of worship, and how the typical time it takes for law enforcement to respond, their attitude about a gunman or other attacker having minutes to wreak havoc, and to maim and or kill them, their typical response was: “Oh well. Better to suffer those consequences than to own a dreaded firearm”.
Sad. Really sad.
It seems to me that "Jew" encompasses a pretty broad range of people, and is probably not all that useful a category for most purposes.I really don’t want this to become another “Jewish” thread. For the sake of brevity:
• According to authentic Torah law, one has an OBLIGATION to defend oneself through the use of deadly force, when faced with a threat to one’s life.
• I am a Orthodox Jew, living in a Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, and many of it’s inhabitants are very well armed! (“Black Rifles” are certainly not uncommon)
• The individual Jews you must know, are a small sample size, and are most likely assimilated.
• Regardless of the above, it’s important for ALL Americans to realize that the implements known as firearms are currently the most efficient tools for defense of life.
• People should go out of their way to own them, train & become proficient in their usage with them!
• People should push for policies that lead to the deregulation of small arms!

From strongly religious and culturally conservative types, to your typical limousine liberals.
Lumping people like yourself, Ben Shapiro and the people at JPFO in with the likes of Barbara Streisand, Bernie Sanders and Chuck Schumer doesn't seem very useful at all.
I'm not all that sure why people care. If you want to love Jews there are many great examples you can revere, and if you want to hate them there are plenty of those as well.
You are correct. I can't say I've read the entirety of your recent posts, but what I have read I generally agree with.It seems you aren’t taking issue with my previous comments in this thread, but just making a related point?

My main point is more related to @VietnamEraVet 's post than yours that I was replying to.
It is that comments about "my Jewish friends", etc would probably be better categorized as "my liberal friends". The qualities noted are far more charisteric of leftists than Jews. The fact that his Jewish friends all seem to be leftists may be more coincidental than causative.
I'm not sure how strong that correlation is.
My post was in no way meant to pick on people of the Jewish faith. I do not know any Orthodox Jews,- everyone that I know is a Reform Jew. And yes, to my knowledge, all of them are also politically liberal as well.
My point was simply that I am saddened that even when faced with fresh evidence of the violence against them, that their attitude was very foreign to me, and to what I consider to be basic common sense. And it also seemed to me to be somehow related to their Jewish faith. After all, I know people of many different faiths, and while I find those people to have differing views on self defense with a firearm, (some are pro gun, and others are not), it just seems that all of my American Jewish friends are anti 2A and personal self defense.
Obviously, it is their right. I just don’t understand it.
We very much need to be pushing for “constitutional carry”!
...as a start... really we need to completely deregulate everything relating to small arms!
Barbara Streisand
any stats or info on Jane Fonda LMAO ..
I think the PP applications are on the increase due, in part, to the new, no bail laws.
I think the entire NYS govt and it's POS leader should be arrested for multiple crimes including endangering the welfare of children, endangering the welfare of the public, aiding and abetting etc.
