Ok I was just wondering because I haven’t gotten mine yet. I was thinking I should call. Finally got my license in the mail that was ordered on Aug 10th,,,,,kind of a coincidence it came today being that I actually found a place that had duck stamps in stock too.
Thats what I was thinking,,,,I was like WTF but then it arrivedOk I was just wondering because I haven’t gotten mine yet. I was thinking I should call.
So I go back to the town clerk for my fishing license and the state still will not issue me one. Clerk says she placed a call to the 'central planning center' deepen the heart of NYSSR and will call me when she gets a response. Six hours later I get the call and make yet another trip to the town clerks' office where my freshly printed license awaits. I asked what the problem was, and they told her it won't issue to disabled veterans, they're working on it. So I should have received it on my first visit. So I made my yearly pilgrimage to the town clerks for next seasons shopping list and it seems NY no longer has a "Sportsman" license. I came away with four separate licenses and no fishing license which would have been included on the sportsman tag, so will have to make another trip after September first to acquire one.
Just when I thought there was one 'relatively' efficient agency in the vast and tiresome NY bureaucracy, they go and clutter it up with another layer of unnecessary minutiae. Thanks NY, I knew you could do it.

My DMPs showed up over the weekend. I’m still waiting on my license and back tag. I guess I need to call the DEC to find out where they sent it.
That’s my plan. I called whatever number was on the decals site and while on hold, it said just what the dec told you. I think I’m going to actually hit Walmart tomorrow and handle that.I am in the same boat. Do not call the number on the decals site as it is not in service. I called my local DEC and they are aware of the fact and gave me the number in Albany to ask about Licenses. It is 518-402-8843 But the recorded message just tells you to go to a licensing agent and have them print you a new license as they are free until Nov.
