I've had no failures and shot mine pretty regularly as well. Still looks new. I agre very durable finish.
Different gun. The OP asked about an XDS and you come on here talking about the XD. That's like you asking about the Glock 43 and I come in here talking about a Glock 17 and a 1911.
If that is the case, then I stand corrected and will edit my post.I got the impression he was asking about all XD's. Since he wrote "XD's" with an apostrophe and lowercase "s".
XDs in 45 ACP is a great gun. Minimum recoil and spot on sights.Maybe it's just me but I don't see much talk about Springfield XD's.
I am still awaiting when I get that letter in the mail so for the time being I've been trying to do some reading and research.
Do you guys have personal experience with XD's? What are your thoughts?
Good, bad, or whatever. What is your experience and what are your opinions?
Thanks

No. I've shot both.Less than the 9mm?
Agreed. I also like my 9mm XDS 9mm 3.3" barrel pistol. Out of the box, I also found the trigger to be a bit heavy for my liking. So, I installed the Powder River Precision spring kit (PRP XDS Trigger Spring Kit). I think that it made the trigger much more to my liking.I owned an XDS 9mm with the 3.3 inch barrel. It was a solid gun. My only complaint was the trigger. It was heavy. I didn't measure it but knew it was heavy.
On the XD ( full size), you cannot rack the slide unless the frame safety is depressed.
It will also no fire unless you grip it properly and depress the frame safety.
I do not know if this applies to their other models as well.
This comes into play in the "injured hand" scenarios and training drills.
The xds recall was because some were going full auto. Nothing about trigger pull.Take a look at these posts on the XD forums on the heavy trigger pull before you make your decision. It was so heavy that there was a recall at one point. It still is heavy.

Where can I order one of those? Or two? I need an FA plastic pistol for less than the cost of an Uzi micro.
Who was importing them before SA got their tentacles around them? Didn't they go for $250 originally?
