I seen videos on YouTube not a very good position to be in. Especially a lot of noise around you and ear protection on. 4th of July in front of your face.

I bought 500 rds of hotshot ammo . had a few that didn't go off I'd say 5 or 6 out of the 500. Two rounds almost made in in the barrel enough that the brass buldged and the slide locked up. I heard and felt it pop and noticed it right away. Had to bang the slide on the bench to remove it. Beware of hotshot ammo.

Yep. No powder and a primer in a .38. Pushed the 158gr SWC just into the rifling. The second cartridge chambered just fine. Marlin 1894CSS. Lots of other shooters around me, lots of noise, thought it went off but no (mild) recoil. I froze in place. My reloads. You have to totally work undistracted when pouring powder and inspect each case to make sure it has powder in it before seating the bullet. That case sits in the middle of my reloading bench shelf to remind me to pay attention.

Years ago in the gun shop/range where I worked we had a customer shooting a Thompson .45 "Tommy gun" that had a squib that he didn't notice. Weird thing was it didn't blow up. Instead as he kept firing load after load the barrel heated up and began to bend. Best we could figure, he put 8 or 9 shots down it before he noticed the curvature of the barrel. He came out and declared that we sold him a defective product. Turned out he was a reloader.
My SKS had one while my friend was using it few years ago. My friend said it didn't feel any different, but luckily it didn't chamber the next round. I thought that was strange so I pulled the bolt and carrier and checked the barrel. When I didn't see any daylight I knew I was in trouble lol. We used the SKS cleaning rod to punch it out. Good times.

I have experienced a few failure to fires while using cheap Remington & Winchester .22 loads, and switched to CCI .22 ammo. Not only is CCI a lot more consistent in my experience, and with all the 10's of 1,000's of CCI .22 rounds I only experienced 1 CCI round failing to fire. On the other hand, while shooting on the indoor range I have seen a few fellow friends & members experience squib loads using Federal & Winchester .22 ammo and a few handgun loads.
