Went looking on the internet today for another crimson Trace CMR208 weapon light. Was going to order direct from them for 104 but found it cheaper on Walmart.com of all places for $85 with free shipping. Went to pay and found a Walmart gift card for $25 I had been given last xmas. Only spent 60 total out of my pocket!

I already have one of the CMR208 lights on my 1911 and I have been very happy with it for the price. It’s bright enough at around 400 lumens, waterproof, shock resistant, uses a common battery type (plus can swap batteries without taking the whole light off the gun), it’s thinner than my 1911, and is ambidextrous with big paddles on either sides of the light so even in the dark I can easily hit the paddle to activate the light. The light housing is aluminum and not plastic.
I intend to mount this one on one of my smith and Wesson’s. For the money I find it to be a good deal for a house defense light. It’s not a combat light (and I’m fine with that as I don’t intend to take this light into an active military war zone) but for home defense/carry use it’s perfectly fine.
