It looks like cooked oil. At least the nut didn't gall.
Not to mention when customers gUnSmiF their own stuff and Bubba it all up! Using a Magpul MOE picatinny adapter through the M4 style handguard which had to be “installed” by taking the handguard off and almost snapping the plastic index pins that the heat shield indexes into. Also because of these giant MOE washers the heat shield wasn’t even indexed through the pins since they created too thick of a gap, causing the heat shield to sit crooked and push up against the barrel and rattle around. But I digress...this is what I’m here for. lolI’ll take “When well known manufacturers use the wrong products and procedures to manufacture their firearms for $200 Alex.” You don’t use Cosmoline to assemble a damn rifle. Rhymes with Mindham Meaponry! It’s pretty sticky. I’ve actually seen this on a decent amount of rifles that I’ve redone before. Lots of companies are too lazy to clean anything before assembly, they get their barrels, upper/lower parts kits in a bath of rust preventative and never remove it. They just install it as is. So annoying and a poor practice.

At $38 shipped I’ll guarantee the seller had no clue of its real value. Excellent score! That’s all that I wear for a hunting jacket when the archery season turns cooler.
My second build is complete.... budget all the way.... Will replace the grip with a MOE+ Grip, got the stock for free. Have the parts to pin the mag, will get that in right away!
Built this to learn. Did the upper totally too.... Headspace checks out okay. Have a decent quality BCG in it.... $80 Barrel from PA. ZRO Delta Upper w/ AP Dust cover & FA. . Matrix Arms handguard. Magpul sights. Anderson SS LPT. Anderson Buffer assembly. Raw Anderson Lower buffed out. Will CAMO the entire thing someday, for now I like the silver & black

Well, I didn't get anything. I ordered a screw for my 686. Smith and Wesson changed it several years ago and don't make it anymore.
It left Georgia on the 3rd. Went to Springfield, MA and then Albany. All it says now is "delayed" .

Larry Potterfield was good to me today!
After completing the customers upper earlier, I decided I should do a quick mock-up of my two builds that will be getting completed very soon. After getting a little glimpse of how they’ll turnout, I’m even more excited and I can’t wait to assemble them...they’re gonna be legit! The 13.7” has that ADM upper that has the matching bolt catch cutout for the Radian lower. Both will have completely different Cerakote color schemes.
