isnt this why many were upset that McDonald didn't go far enough
What does that mean for a gun range ?So I could essentially carry my gun to and from my house when going to a small business and that’s about it.
Any gathering of over 15 people for any reason at all, o mean damn I have parties bigger than that. Puts people in a tough spot honestly.
This law would limit all types of shooting sports to a maximum of 14 people, including NRA pistol, rifle and shotgun classes, skeet and trap matches, IDPA, USPSA, steel challenge, 3 gun, sporter rifle, bullseye matches and leagues, and others not listed here. There are indoor ranges with more than 14 stations. There are shooting sports destinations located on several acres of land with multiple separate skeet, trap, rifle and pistol ranges. Would those be limited to a maximum of 14 people, including the non-shooting support staff? So this would literally make it illegal for a shooting range to have more than 14 people.
While I am sure regulating LE would never be enforced (who would even do it?). LEOSA specifically states throughout it "concealed carry". LE in uniform open carry. More messes.
Even if it stated general carry not concealed, there is also an exception in LEOSA; "This section shall not be construed to supersede or limit the laws of any State that the laws of any State to prohibit or restrict the possession of concealed firearms on their property (such as a bars, private clubs, amusement parks, etc.)"
Or committing a crime.I heard that you are exempt from this bill as long as you are wearing a mask while carrying.
Several of the justices were questioning the concept of what "sensitive areas" were and how they'd be defined.Pre-emptive strike against the coming SCOTUS rebuke of NY political malfeasance towards it's residents in regard to 2A!
Enforcement is entirely another conversation... But the fact that this type of legislation is even being introduced should be considered and factored into he decision!
So, the State is basically saying ok, SCOTUS is going to create a Shall Issue environment, but won't prevent States from regulating the possession as long as it doesn't prevent it... As the questioning in the case exhibited, or, subways... So the State will preemptively strike by limiting where, when, how you might possibly legally be in possession! The State knowingly laughing that to challenge the law, it will take years, and years more, if even ever it would go before SCOTUS! This type of malfeasance it s what the SCOTUS is there to prevent, yet, being without TEETH, is powerless to do! These states and their anti 2A fevor, will never surrender!
and holding up a 7-11..........................I heard that you are exempt from this bill as long as you are wearing a mask while carrying.

Another NY LEO in support of more gun laws.....So many seem upset about this. I think it is awesome and I hope it passes in full. I really do. No sarcasm coming from my typed words.
If this mess were to pass, it would be amended to give some people exemptions, The Police for one as well as elected officials, their bodyguards and others they deem to be worthy of an exemption.
I do not think this has a chance in hell of passing, not even a watered down version; but again, I hope it does.
We the People have the power but we seldom use the power that is rightfully ours. If this were to pass, next to no one would do anything about it, ie. private citizen(s).
In 2013, the SAFE Act passed and the overwhelming vast majority of people did nothing, nothing at all except register their guns and neuter them. Sure, there were a couple of rally's that tore up some grass.
Maybe if this garbage passes, more people will wake up, I doubt it though.
Another NY LEO in support of more gun laws.....
Why am I not surprised?

They can already revoke pistol permits at will. They don't need an excuse. What this would do is allow them to revoke pistol permits all over the state. When someone is "caught" in any of those circumstances they are "breaking the law" and judges will revoke their permits.
There is no way this would stand up in an unbiased court, but we dont really have that in NY so it would have to go to scotus and who has the money for that kind of fight? They know this and will exploit this unfortunate aspect of the law.
Good point.I would say this is in direct response to the Rittenhouse trial and carrying a gun while at a protest or gathering.
