They typically plea bargain cases down and most people don't have the money to fight it much further unfortunately. This is why we are stuck with so much bullshit.hahaha fuck NYS legislature. what a petty temper tantrum.
This will get thrown out the nano-second after the first case is litigated in favor of the State and is appealed to the SC. The law will disappear to avoid a loss in court, the defendant will go free, minus legal costs to combat this bullshit. It's the tens of thousands of otherwise law abiding, peaceful, and civilized citizens who will leave the gun at home that I worry about.
Yep. But after it is "litigated in favor of the State", you lose your permit, you lose your guns, you lose your freedom, job, and possibly family and friends. Then you lose tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars while you sit in a state prison and pay lawyers to appeal it over and over again all the way to the SC. Your sentence might be over and you paroled by the time it gets there. This will get thrown out the nano-second after the first case is litigated in favor of the State and is appealed to the SC
Any gathering that would be discouraged by such a law is not one these guys need to worry about.Good point.
As much as it could be in preparation/retaliation for a 2A-favorable SCOTUS ruling, it makes more sense for it to be a preemptive maneuver to discourage armed protest and militia gatherings.
The process is the punishment.Yep. But after it is "litigated in favor of the State", you lose your permit, you lose your guns, you lose your freedom, job, and possibly family and friends. Yep. Nano-second.
Exactly. Oh look! I won! I lost everything but I won!The process is the punishment.
Once a critical mass of people realize that the system has failed, and only exists anymore to perpetuate itself, then there is a chance to tear it down and build a new one with it's original function of serving the people intact. So we go through the proper channels just to get this unconstitutional law thrown out just to start all over again? So whats the point?
Some people aren’t willing to risk that thus leading to complete obedience and for those who do not comply or fall in line will be casted and labeled as “the other”. They’re literally saying for those who don’t get the jab, they should be denied health care and put in camps. Now for people like us who defend the 2A what dirty trick are they willing to use to destroy us?Once a critical mass of people realize that the system has failed, and only exists anymore to perpetuate itself, then there is a chance to tear it down and build a new one with it's original function of serving the people intact.
It will certainly be a dirty job, but it has to happen eventually.
The irony is that the system would last longer if it tried to fulfil it's proper function than if it abandons it in an attempt to gain more power.
The fact that a large percentage of the population will accept anything just means that the critical mass needs to be larger. Some people aren’t willing to risk that thus leading to complete obedience and for those who do not comply or fall in line will be casted and labeled as “the other”. C’mon man, you know those “exemptions” are going to be in there. This bill won’t pass as is. All of their security guards couldn’t carry if the penal exceptions for permits don’t cover it.
I fear that the country that I love dearly is no longer America where you no longer are allowed to question, challenge or go against the narrative. The part I feared the most is “establish a new normal so when you see something out of the ordinary but legal it would be socially unacceptable thus making it illegal” just like open carry. The fact that a large percentage of the population will accept anything just means that the critical mass needs to be larger.
If that percentage is large enough, then it's impossible to form the necessary resistance.
Hopefully enough Americans still have a backbone. Most nations do not.
Supreme court justices made that same exact point. This bill seems to go against one of the main points of having a firearm - protection from strangers. I'm not really worried about getting mugged in the forest. If anything being around a bunch of strangers is a good reason to have a firearm.
Thats just what the left does, they throw shit at the wall because something will stick. They also know that countless unconstitutional laws, mandates, executive orders, messages of necessity, etc.. cant all be challenged so they just play the numbers game while increasing their power. So we go through the proper channels just to get this unconstitutional law thrown out just to start all over again? So whats the point?
It’s not in the current bill. All firearms are illegal in New York with exceptions. A license is in the exemptions.C’mon man, you know those “exemptions” are going to be in there.
