Agreed. The whole system of justice has pro law enforcement bias, not just cops giving each other a break.
Highly unlikely, yes. Impossible? Absolutely not. Far from it.Excluding politically charged cases, it is highly unlikely a cop on the job would be charged with a crime without compeling evidence.
We're not talking about due process or his day in court. We're talking about the court of public opinion.Pointing it out doesn't deny him his due process, he still gets his day in court.
That sounds like a rather big logical leap. But, again, we're not talking about the courts. We're talking about personal standards. My personal standard is to have more information than was provided in that considerably sparse article. Your personal standard is to assume any cop who catches charges is automatically guilty. If presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law was the only standard, no one could be arrested, no one could be charged with a crime and no one could be indicted.
One big difference between our standards is that my standard yields more accurate outcomes. Meaning, I assume guilt over an innocent less often than you do, because I withhold judgment until sufficient facts emerge.
Though they shouldn't. Again, one can be arrested at whim.People still have arrests on their record, even if they weren't convicted of any crime.
