Still tossing around the idea of a comp for my edc

And thankfully Glocks have more options. Maybe one day my CZ will get itself a primary machine stealth comp, but I'll either have to move, safe act repealed, or just tac weld the comp onto the barrel.

In the mean time been wanting one for my G19 for some time, and thanks to the safe act, a compensator itself is legal but as per the wording,

"A threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward grip, or silencer"

In comes new option. the mayhem syndicate cali compensator. So this looks to be a collaboration between S3F (barrel) and mayhem syndicate. Benefit is it's a proprietary barrel and thread system just for the super compact compensator (g19 becomes same size as g17) and uses a roll pin.

So since the threads on this barrel would only accept this specific compensator, bam FUAC. Based on the one and only single review I've found, they stayed it seems to work slightly better or the same as the TBRCi micro comp (turns a G19 into same size a G34)

Not sure I follow? Proprietary barrel and threads which mean they by definition if the law don't accept any of the listed scary stuff.

Second part, flatter shooting, easier tracking of sights, faster follow up shots?

But it still does accept a scary thing, just a proprietary one.

With 9mm I don't see the advantage, but that's just personal.

But it's not a prohibited "scary thing"

And hotter loads are able to be used (which the hotter the load the better the comp works, which can lead to hotter loads having less felt recoil or muzzle rise than standard pressure loads) which can aid in better penetration both in body or barriers

Sorry not ignoring this, but at work doing that OT so not much time to do research, but as I would figure the bullet doesnt make any contact with a compensator which also has no threading so it's not extending the barrel, but a separate part attached to said barrel

You're not dealing with a rational set of laws.

Yep. The way the law is written for the pistol definition of an AW, it counts the threaded barrel as a feature rather than the compensator.

Now contrast this with the features listed for the rifle definition of assault weapon.

With that said, I really don't think a compensator will make much difference on a 9mm. And if it does, the difference would be so minut that you will not even feel it when amped up on adrenaline.

Then you are extending the barrel on a carry weapon for no real benefit where it'll poke you in the groin or leg more while sitting and carrying appendix and poking the bucket seats of your car more by carrying 4 o'clock.

I would like to see the research showing the difference we tween a couple hundred feet per second and penetration. And even what is the difference in feet per second? I would just go with softer shooting loads. Or just hang onto the fucker.

The way around it would be to get a longer barrel that sticks out the end of the gun, and then just drill ports in it.

Or get a barrel with Popple holes in it.

A couple hundred fps represents a substantial difference in kinetic energy.
