Kimber EVO is metal frame and striker fired but is limited to 8 rounds. Frustrating how gun companies assume because you want striker fired you must want polymer framed.

My first 9mm and still my favorite 6906! ( but almost impossible to find 10rd mags for them these days! ) And yes they are hammer..

It’s basically a striker fired version of the micro 9. With the factory extended 8 round mags you have the grip size close to a compact, think about the same grip size of a shield with the 8 round mags.

i was surprised to see that there are not many options.

looks like size wise, similar dimensions as glock 26, albeit bit smaller

With the flush fit mag your pinky will hang off, with the extended 8 round mag you have just enough surface to fit your pinky on.

I agree the options are limited. It annoys me how the gun manufacturers assume that because you want certain features or capacity you must want a certain type of gun.

Not sure what metal it uses but:

I have one. I never shoot it because a cop gave it to me and they only had 12 round mags for it. I can’t have them so I have no mags for it. The mags are super expensive and hard to come by now a days.

Your requirement of a compact form factor eliminates many pistols that would otherwise fit your criteria. Most 9f the steel frame striker fired pistols are intended for target/competition use and I am guessing you want something for carry so I wonder why it is that you want a steel frame when a polymer frame is better suited for the purpose?

I had been noodling around on SIG's site and I just realized that they offer a steel framed P320, the P320 AXG Scorpion. Its the same gun as a P320 compact except the grip module is stainless steel. That perfectly meets your requirements @ikilledkenny
