This statement makes absolutely 100% ZERO sense. How are suppressors not effective on “military rifles”?! Unless you get those weird subsonic 5.56, which is stupid because all it does is make a glorified 22lr…5.56 is inherently supersonic by a lot. And even with it moving so quickly, suppressors still help with shooting 5.56. Suppressors not only remove almost all of the initial concussion of the rounds being fired but suppressors are also some of the best flashhiders out there. Suppressors also increase fps most of the time and sometimes can actual tighten up groupings.
What models are you looking at? If it were me, I’d go with a rifle can before a pistol can.
That’s not what Delta or Seals say I’ve listened to quite a few podcasts and anytime it comes up the answer is always the same and they say they couldn’t care less about suppressors cutting down on sound it’s that they basically eliminate flash hence they are not giving away their position that’s coming from the cream of the crop.

$55 dollars is pretty steep for a one time use item.just ordered a gun suppressor from amazon .. 55 bucks .. i hope its legal .. it is a device that does muffles the sound of gun blast ..

Suppressors don’t make 99.9% of guns “movie quiet” but they absolutely are effective. Like I mentioned already, they are some of the best flashhiders and even though most of the time the rounds are supersonic, they are still extremely beneficial, even if you’re going in to get Bin Laden they help. I’d much rather be inside a small structure or room where my teammates are utilizing suppressors than not. Shooting indoors with suppressors sucks much less. Another benefit of suppressors is they make it more difficult to determine exactly where shots are coming from in an open field environment.
Exactly, rounds breaking the sound barrier is still going to happen no matter what with supersonic ammo, but it’s much more bearable with a suppressor. You get that crack down range but that initial concussion is massively mitigated, especially when indoors or when close proximity to other shooters.

Most likely a .30 caliber can first. Then maybe branch out to like a 556 specific, 9mm and so on.

What attributes are you looking for in a can? Just like there are no perfect “do-all” rifles, the same goes for cans. Obviously people usually say the “quietest”, but you also have to take weight, length, material, mounting options, application into consideration.
Honestly minimal POI shift would be ideal, I know that is somewhat gun specific. "Quietness" is not really that much of a concern, but mounting will be. Probably looking for a TI. I was looking at CGS, OSS and Surefire as the 3 contenders.
