SW revolver ILS removal

So after a few months of owning my 627 PC, I have decided that I don't like looking at the hole on the side of my revolver.

The lock itself never malfunctioned but I decided to plug it. There is a vendor that makes a color matched plug for the revolver.

After I swapped it out, a thought occurred, is this stupid state going to find something wrong with me removing the internal lock on my revolver?

Does it say anything in the UNSAFE act that says anything about removing the ILS out of guns?

No way anyone would notice that unless they were looking for it. I can't imagine even NY has anything on the books about it anyway.

Nothing says you need an ILS. Even if you were required to have a lock you wouldn't need an ILS. A cable or trigger lock would meet those requirements.

On the S&W forum someone was selling plugs, but not sure if he still does.

The removal of the lock is not a crime to the best of my knowledge. If the revolver were involved in a situation it could be brought up in court. But, probably only relevant if you left it unsecured and someone else got their hands on it.
