No, you should be able to decide who you associate with. For any reason. But if we are segregated by color we are screwed then. I could not have dave chapelle as room mate because some morons.

It's only a free society if everyone can do it.You should be able to do this in free society...
Ok. So we agree there cannot be a building that says black or white people only so I am free to go there and visit or share a dorm with my buddy dave chappele. No, you should be able to decide who you associate with. For any reason.
I don't really care their reason for wanting it. The point stands that you should be able to associate with whoever you wish for any reasonOk. So we agree there cannot be a building that says black or white people only so I am free to go there and visit or share a dorm with my buddy dave chappele.
I hear your point and agree 100% and while your approach comes from the purest form of liberty I dont think this segregation idea comes from there but the opposite and following the trend associated with the democratic endoctrination agenda.
Again, I am ok with a kid choosing who they want for any reason as soon as one does not start with the "our spaces" BS because you cannot prevent others from entering a public building based on color, religion, political associstion, etc...I don't really care their reason for wanting it. Depends on what you define as public.Again, I am ok with a kid choosing who they want for any reason as soon as one does not start with the "our spaces" BS because you cannot prevent others from entering a public building based on color, religion, political associstion, etc...
In your house you can invite whoever you want but not in a public building, school, college, public offices, etc...
You are correct about how things are.The military is not a private business and you do not have a saying on accommodations of any kind. In fact, the military is segregated only
by gender (for living quarters) and rank. Unless things have changed is also not part of any terms in any contractual agreement with them.
I don't think a privately owned bar can ask people to leave based on their color w/o violating fundamental civil rights.
Other conditions, perhaps, but not one associated with race, religion, etc...
By the same token a customer cannot demand to be serviced in a way that is offensive or morally questionable and the owner
reserves the right to deny such service.
Look for signs on doors that might indicate what is not allowed or allowed like for example a no solicitation sign.
What difference does it make if the military does anything? They get lots of stuff grossly wrong.I gave it some thought. At first I agreed with Darth. He made a good point about choice. But after thinking on it further, where does the choice end? How far can you take it? Can you say that you only want to be roomed with a white? What if he isn’t white enough? What if he’s a dark Sicilian? What if he’s looks white but is Puerto Rican? What if all you want is an Asian but there are none? What if a Chinese gets put in with a Japanese?
It should be totally random. When in the Marines, I saw black kids roomed with white cowboys. They became the best of friends. Black kids buying Garth Brooks CDs. That’s what I saw. I also saw a white kid who never saw a Mexican before go to the Mexican’s family’s house for thanksgiving on a 72hr leave. All those kids probably had their prejudices until experiencing those experiences.
In life we can’t choose our coworkers due to comfort . A soldier in a fire team can’t choose who he’s going to fight beside. A cop can’t choose who he will ride with as a partner. A stock boy can’t choose what race his boss is going to be. So why as a child in a school?
What if he’s a dark Sicilian?
Wasnt that what happened to a Bakery who denied a type of cake to a Gay couple? You are correct about how things are.
The question is how they should be.
If the owners of a property want to restrict access (or service) to any combination of people for any reason they should have the right.
Public properties are owned by all of us, so the people we employ to manage them for us don't get to pick and choose the same way.
100% agree. I think the point of contention here is the double standard we're seeing. No, you should be able to decide who you associate with. For any reason.
None. It was bought up because I was in it and saw the positives of what a total random rooming situation brought about. What difference does it make if the military does anything? They get lots of stuff grossly wrong.
The bases are gun free zones. Only guns for the privlaged.
is it possible to have a BMI of 2% and have 34D breasts? (asking for a friend!)well lets see here. Im 65, if I go back to school and I stay on campus, I would require a female, any race, no taller than 5' and weigh no more than 110lbs and have a BMI of 2% , with 34D breasts...teeth are optional
Im i still a pig? YES, and proud of it, but I do have standards
is it possible to have a BMI of 2% and have 34D breasts? (asking for a friend!)
Technically they were fine baking cakes for gay people, they refused to bake gay wedding cakes. They wouldn't have sold that cake to a straight friend of the gays either.Wasnt that what happened to a Bakery who denied a type of cake to a Gay couple?
The owner has a right to deny a cake that is offensive to him/her.
I guess many folks these days confuse PC with civil rights.
OK, and it can also bring about negatives. And you know who should decide? The individual.None. It was bought up because I was in it and saw the positives of what a total random rooming situation brought about.
What's wrong is wrong. I don't care if the other side is doing it or not.100% agree. I think the point of contention here is the double standard we're seeing.
If a group of white students staged a sit-in at the Chancellor's office and demanded to room only with other whites... they would be burned to the ground as vile racists.
To what point can the individual decide? If he wants all white pastafarians with spaghetti bowls and there are none, what then? He gets a room all by himself then? And if they force a some white Protestant in the room with him, what then? Tantrum? Legal action?OK, and it can also bring about negatives. And you know who should decide? The individual.
If he is on with paying the full price for a room by himself, sure!To what point can the individual decide? If he wants all white pastafarians with spaghetti bowls and there are none, what then? He gets a room all by himself then? And if they force a some white Protestant in the room with him, what then? Tantrum? Legal action?
And if none are available? If he is on with paying the full price for a room by himself, sure!
Then he has the choice: Room with those that are available, or room elsewhere? And if none are available?
Again, I'm in agreement. What's wrong is wrong. I don't care if the other side is doing it or not.
No, you should be able to decide who you associate with. For any reason.
