Talk to me about Glock trigger upgrades - G48 edition

Yeah, anytime someone asks about getting their first Glock or any handgun for that matter, I almost always refer to the 19. It’s the perfect size for ability to conceal but still large enough to fight with if ever needed. Once you get bitten by the “Glock-Bug”, you won’t be able to stop. Glock has the largest market for OEM and uprgade parts, so you’ll never be hard pressed to find parts when you need them (unlike Springfield Armory XD’s!). They’re also pretty easy to work on once you know what you’re doing and how all the parts interact with each other. I love my 34 trigger. The whole 34 system is made from factory Glock parts, they’ve just been modified.

Yeah, that’s a custom stippling job I did myself. Took my Dremel to it and completely changed the shape of it and redid the previous stippling I had done to it. It’s a Gen. 4, so I removed all but the top finger groove, reshaped the top finger groove, gave it a double undercut, reshaped the front corner of the trigger guard, gave the interior of the trigger guard a glove bevel, carved in thumb index point on both sides, recessed all the borders of where the stippling begins. It was a time consuming process with lots of different sanding grits, bits, and sweat lol. The frame was also Cerakoted that OD Green, the frame is the factory black. Then I took my wood burner/soldering iron and created the texture on the inside of the lines I created. It’s also stippled underneath the double undercut for better grip with the support hand.

I was a big anti-Glock person until I said fuck it, why am I going against my principles of being function over form guy? I went and shot a 19 and a 21 and almost ordered the 19, then tried the 48 and it was exactly what I wanted over my Shield - slightly bigger, fills the hand more, works. The shitty sights had to go though, haha.

I am considering getting better sights for my Glock. The stock sights work fine but where I shoot in my yard im usually shooting into the shade so the sights ca be hard to see. Im thinking fiber optic.

Yea looks like the polymer version is mainly to go with their "syndicate" build which is off the p80 frame and they arent doing slime line versions (43/43x/48)

It looks like Overwatch has the polymer, but no lip on the polymer like Ed's. If I read Ed's comment correctly, no polymer exists from Agency for the slim 43/48.

Both makers have a ledge (like the TAC) for a fee. Looks like Overwatch can be ordered right from their site.

Edit: I think that really just answers my question - just go w/ Overwatch and decide what's more important - price or feature.

Yeah, it doesn’t seem that there is a polymer version for the 43/48. Guess you’ll just have to go all in and spend the extra money on the aluminum version.

@Cleck Not sure if you ever decided on a trigger but they finally released a polymer version of the Overwatch trigger for the 43/48.Overwatch Precision Polymer DAT for Glock Pistols

You should have let me know you were gonna get it, I could have given you a coupon code for a few buckaroos off. It’s all good though, wouldn’t have saved a fortune. In the end you got a nice trigger to work with.

I actually really like the factory Glock minus connector. I do have a nice polish job on it. The polish job just make the full travel of the trigger press very smooth, I don’t change any of the geometry on it. I have the factory Glock minus connector in my Glock 34. My 26 has the Taran Tactical Grand Master connector in it and it’s definitely a rolling break instead of a very defined wall. It’s something you would have to feel to see if you preferred.

Got them all put in the gun today, what an easy process. Once I figured out how to pull the feed ramp (I think?) it was cake. Didn't even need a punch, just some small screwdrivers.

Initial thoughts are that it definitely feels nicer. Easier to pull, less effort. Didn't lighten it too much, but smoother and nicer. Can't wait to shoot it.
