Talon Grips

So I put these rubber Talon Grips on my Glock 26. They are a necessary addition in my opinion. On my previous outing, my hands were sweating and the gun was breaking my grip and bouncing around in my hand after a while. It was a mixture of fatigue and slipperiness.

Today, my the gun remained steady in my grip even after sweating.

What I like about them too is that they don't add any girth to the grip. It almost looks like a stippling job. They are very easily to install too. A hair dryer is all that's needed.

I never had any issue with them as far as grip goes. I really like them but after a year under Tx weather i guess they began to peel. I installed them correctly. I thought they would last longer.

Ordered a set for my 43. Will shoot it without it first, then with, and compare. I could imagine the Glocks can be a bit slick after a while

I've got them on my 43 and 42. I really like them.

You'd never think that something so minor would make the gun feel so different. But, to me the gun just feels more "solid" and stable with these rubberized grips.

They are pretty inexpensive though if they last a year.

I'm going to buy a few more as backups. I have Amazon Prime so I'll get them from Amazon with free shipping.

I have them in a G3 as well for much longer than a year. No issues. I began to think the factory checkering on the G4 grip does not let the talon grip adhesive settle as good as it does on the G3 grip. But i agree they are not expensive.

That Gen 4 pinky extension from Pearce is ridiculously large. I tried the Gen 3 one in the past since it's about half that size on my Gen4 Glock but I got the pinky pinch with it so I had time take it off.

I can not fire the G26 comfortably or accurately with out that extension.
How do you manage?

I manage. I'm accurate enough at 10 yards. The Talon grips make things even better now. I really liked the Gen 3 extension since it really didn't extend the grip that much like the Gen 4 extension does but the pinky pinch was so bad so I had to take it off and deal with the gun without it.

I've been thinking of getting the Gen 4 extension, putting the Dremel to it to make it half the length and then adding this from Talon to it to dress it up.

Interesting idea. I assume your priority is total concealment?

I myself carry the 26 as pictured in a iwb holster using a shirt 1X my size 0 imprint.

I have even used this extension (19 mag). Which i find the best (grip) and still no imprint. I am not a big guy or over weight.

Yep. Maximum concealment. It has to be undetectable.

I have the rubberized talons on my Shield and G19. I love the extra grip they provide. Very easy to install. I had to cut the thumb area away though as it made it very difficult to draw from my N82 holster. Minor peeling after a couple years, but I cut away that small area. They're cheap enough that changing them annually is no big deal.

Just MHO. Other members will see it different.
Even where i reside which is open carry i do everthing i can to conceal. The less attention the better but at the end i personally worry more about shooting accurately with my edc than concealment. Hence the extensions lol.

Almost went with the talons. The lc9s grip is very thin, the hogue added some palm swell and finger grooves. Better fit for me is all with that grip.

Yea. I felt the same way when I had a single stack XDS. It felt too thin.

It's good. I didn't have problems. It definitely improved my grip compared to the standard plastic. From what I read online, the skateboard tape version tears up your skin if worn with no undergarment or tears up your clothes with time and movement.

After having a custom stipple job gun, I can tell you any gun I'm serious about will be getting it. The grip is unlike anything I have handled before.

With that said I'm using the talon grips on my G43 until I get my G19 together. Once I have a different gun to EDC then I will be sending my 43 out to get work done.

How is the stippling compared to the Talon grips in regards to slippage?

The stippling is harsher, which come to find out I like. The rubberized talons seem stickier.

I think both are great additions with their benefits and downfalls and falls into a personal preference thing.

I'm waiting to see how the stippling ages with use. I'm not sure if it will eventually smooth out and loose it's edge or if it will stand the test of time.

Talon grips is the way to go. I've the Talons on a few of my handguns and have put them on many handguns (mostly Glocks and SW's) for friends. Beats the hell out of stippling a frame to the point of no return. Talons are very economical and can always be undone (never had anyone do it though).

I use Talons on a couple of mine and I use an Ebay knock off on a couple others. The Knock off brand (I forget the name..search Talon grips in ebay and see the other brand name come up in search)has two types of rubber..a sandpaperey type and a soft rubber type. I bought both plus my Talons..the knock off stays on longer (I always buy two sets every time anyway knowing that they're going to come off in a year) than the Talons and the sandpaperey version let you hold better in rain and sweat also the sandpaper feel wears down quickly to be very comfortable and the best of the 3. That's my experience.
