Most gun owners agree that common sense protections are needed. In 2020, more than 1,000 New Yorkers died from gun violence. Guns have now become the leading cause of death among children in our country. Every year, over 8,000 children are killed or seriously injured by firearms nationwide. In May of this year, 10 innocent people were murdered at a supermarket in Buffalo.
The shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was my wake-up call, spurring me to post a video destroying my AR-15, asking: “So when do we change?”
The answer is now. New York has some of the strongest gun laws in the country, and Congress has finally acted and passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first gun safety legislation enacted in nearly 30 years.
However, it’s not enough, especially given that just this summer the Supreme Court ruling overturned a 100-year-old gun safety law in our state. I’m glad our lawmakers here acted swiftly in response and passed this new legislation. New Yorkers and all Americans deserve to live without fear of violence.

Yes when do we change? When do we start to punish criminals to end the circle of crime? It’s a well-know. Fact that a small amount of people in the USA are responsible for the majority of the crime that happened here. When do we change that? Is the answer never because they just want to take my guns? I just read today where a 3 judge panel of the Second Circuit ruled in favor of men identifying as women competing in female athletics. This gives me very little hope on a second amendment ruling in our favor. Appeals court rules against female athletes opposed to biological males competing in girls' sports

I have zero confidence in anyone except maybe 10 of my closet friends and family members. I know they will screw us and I do t even trust the sc to handle it when the time comes. I’m hopefully the sc will but I’m not counting on it.

I tend to be of the opinion that the gun crap was going to come along, regaurdless of SC ruling. I think there is more to come. Just part of the plan. The more crap thrown against the wall, the more some of it sticks.
Since there has been three months of this there should be some wonderful statistics of STEEPLY declining crime. There obviously is no such thing so the these new laws aren't working, ya know that will be spun in a way to make the crazy even worse.

It’s not about reducing crime or saving lives. The only reason they care about is is because we own guns and they want them.
You bet your ass there’s more to come. Soon it will be all your semi auto rifles need to be on your permit. It’s coming. Guns will be banned from nearly everywhere and yes it will be worse than it is now.

I also have a feeling that at some point in the future, it will be required that the police do audit checks to see your safe and how the guns and ammo are secured. Whether you have 1 gun or 100 guns.
I'm also imagining that it will also require a monitored alarm system too. Just like what they want to do with gun stores with surveillance.

I applaud and 1000% appreciate the GOF and GOA effort to help us. They, as well as the FPC and 2AF are doing a great job. With that being said Sotomayor handles this so obviously im not optimistic.....

Sotomeyer is the one who will decide if there is a stay for New York. I would not count on it

At least the second circuit knows that the plaintiff is willing to appeal up to SCOTUS and appeal again if Sotomyer shoots it down. I don’t think they want that. It may take a few months but I think we may win this. On the other hand NYS will not appeal to SCOTUS. They have too much to lose.

No they do want that. If it goes to scotus and scotus takes it that will give the dems more reason to call for impeachment of the justices and packing of the court. This is what they want. This is the end goal. They want total control of everything. When they pack the Supreme Court or find Clarence Thomas and Samuel Altilo guilty of something they will control the scotus as well. It will then be well the last court got Bruen wrong and the CCIA, yeah that’s fine…. Feel free to pass more gun control. It’s all over then. I firmly believe this is their plan, but they lost the house for now.

They can’t pack the court unless they pass a bill to add more justices. Sinema and Manchen will never support that. They also need 60 votes to do so. I also don’t see impeachment as a viable option. We just have to pray Clarence Thomas doesn’t pass away. He’s a bit over weight for his age. Teh makeup of the Supreme Court is safe for at least two years.
I don't think you can impeach a justice because you dont like how they ruled on something. I think it would have to be for personal conduct and I dont see justice Thomas robbing a liquor store anytime soon.
From what I've read, if she denies our request we can have another justice of our choosing review it also. It can then be reviewed over and over to other justices until the majority have ruled. Usually in order to avoid this long process in controversial cases the initial justice will just have the entire bench rule from the start. This what I've seen. Not sure how accurate it is.

I would agree. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if Sotomyer tried to obfuscate. It may be wishful thinking but I would love to see this work its way up and lead to a ruling on constitutional carry and national reciprocity. It’s the only real solution to end this madness.
She may surprise us. Even though she is a liberal, these SCOTUS people tend to take this stuff very seriously. A lower court ignoring a decision from SCOTUS?! They treat the court as a very prestigious and respected institution. Just because she wasn't in the majority opinion doesn't mean she wants the court that she sits on to be ignored or have the appearance that they don't have power. Even the conservative and liberal justices all get along very well and spend time together. You will never hear one justice say a bad thing about another. They want and demand that the court is respected.
