I spend 60+ nights in the woods every year, sometimes closer to 100.
I havent used a tent in about 15 years but I do carry a small tarp incase it rains.
When I did use a tent, it wss ONLY because of weather.
MOST less expensive tents leak so bad, youre better off in the rain. Every drop of moisture will be trapped on your tarp tent floor.
A simple tarp over a branch will let the rain soak into the ground and keep you drier.
Anyways, most do not like open sky sleeping because of the scary animals, soooo, get a decent tent with good waterproof ratings.
Here was my bed for a couple nights last week. And yes, Moscado drank from a water bottle.![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
