As much as I'm glad the POS criminal is no longer around to possibly hurt/kill others I would imagine when someone is running away and your life is not in danger it sadly wouldn't be wise to shoot that individual, as vile as he may be. Driving off after also probably doesn't help his case.
Review Texas laws. Completely legal.

In NY that's tantamount to suicide.
In Texas, not so much.
In some parts of the world, letting him get away to take his revenge later could be a big mistake.
When I pump gas, I have one hand on the nozzle, one on my EDC, and my head on a swivel.

In thinking about this a bit more it would be legal in NYS also ( in defense of a 3rd party, a stretch but technically legal) but I wouldn't even fathom attempting it in the NYS justice system.
I really have my doubts there would have been a catastrophic outcome. Real life is vastly different than the movies

Glad the fucker got shot up, well deserved. Shooting the runner..... Here in the great state of NY, if you/shooter doesn't end up in jail you'll likely end up broke after defending yourself in court. Shooter did the smart thing by hauling ass. Maybe not right, but smart, as long as he gets away with that.

Not gonna be hard to cross reference that color Caddillac CTS with credit/debit sales at that time stamp/location. Shooter might as well have held up a cardboard sign with his info on it for the camera. He’ll be easily identified.

Real life says the gas pump would have a couple holes punched in it, and the insurance would replace the parts.
Worst case it hits something that actually carries fuel, then the attendant has to hit the emergency stop button for the pumps to keep it from making a mess all over the ground.
The inside of the pump is mostly *not* anything with fuel in it.
An actual fire would be a freak event.
Very true, but there are so many more identifying factors from the video cash would only eliminate one piece of an already easy puzzle.

Why some folks would say this was wrong I have no idea. Guess they would change their mind if they were the victim. This was like double robbery. With the price of gas? It’s bad enough.
