Nothing any politician does, good or bad makes me not get up or get up. When it comes to politics, there is one, and only one thing we can do about it, thats vote, I did that, we won this time. Not gonna get so worked up about it that it dictates whether or not I get outta bed.Otherwise, why the hell should I get out of bed in the morning?
Not what I meant. I'm talking about hope across the board. I may get dejected, frustrated, disappointed, angry, etc., but if I give up hope for anything I might as well call it a day. I have always said things happen for a reason and ultimately good will triumph over evil. I just hoped I would live to see it. I am slightly giddy that I am starting to see the fruits of my hopeful labor. Time will ultimately tell. Until then I remain positive.Nothing any politician does, good or bad makes me not get up or get up. I dont think I'm being negative, just cautious. I am very happy with most of what he is doing, just being realistic about this lawsuit. At best it wont be settled til well after Trump is gone, and the only loser, no matter how it is settled is us taxpayers.Until then I remain positive.
Look at your last sentence and my last sentence. I guess I haven't been beaten down as much as you have. Well sir, here's to you discovering more optimism. I hope we can celebrate in the near future.I dont think I'm being negative, just cautious. I am very happy with most of what he is doing, just being realistic about this lawsuit. The latest complaint from the left is that "Trump is going to eliminate Social Security and Medicare" and "Republicans view Social Security as a handout, a welfare program."
Seeing as how I've been paying into both my entire adult life, and it is not an unfunded (or wasn't until congress got their grubby hands into it) program, I would not expect them to unilaterally eliminate it.
And if they did, I would expect ALL of my money returned to me. It's the government, so I know they have records of every cent I've paid into it.
So is this one true? I don't watch the "news", so I wouldn't hear if they have been calling for its elimination.
Because most of our lives most of us have been paying into it, getting rid of it is going to be a lot more complicated than just axing a money laundering operation in Yemen. As far as I have seen, no, he is not getting rid of SS. AS much as I would like to see it go away.
It is going to be "means tested" away in my opinion. Which means that if you have any retirement savings at all or even an investment portfolio you are probably going to lose out on most if not all of your expected social security distributions so it can be given to people who never saved a goddam penny in their life.Because most of our lives most of us have been paying into it, getting rid of it is going to be a lot more complicated than just axing a money laundering operation in Yemen.
SS *will* be eliminated in the coming decades. That is inevitable no matter who is in charge.
But doing that in a way that isn't brutal and unfair to it's victims is not going to be easy, if it's possible at all.
They put new flow restrictions on all showers and faucets and they suck. I remove them all prior to installation. My tankless hot water heater would not function properly because the flow was so low. I removed the flow restriction device on the shower head and it works wonderfully. It’s all about reducing water usage.""
Does anyone know what exactly the efficiency standards were in this time frame? I not not remember appliances being super awesome 5 years ago either.
I think it will be inflated away.It is going to be "means tested" away in my opinion. Which means that if you have any retirement savings at all or even an investment portfolio you are probably going to lose out on most if not all of your expected social security distributions so it can be given to people who never saved a goddam penny in their life.
That makes it tricky for those (like me) who are rapidly approaching 65. From a financial perspective every year you wait is roughly an 8% increase in your payments. That's a pretty healthy return. However if your distribution is taken away at some point then it's probably better to take it as early as possible. Every financial advisor I have spoken to says the same thing - nothing will happen to social security payments. I think this will be another example where "the experts" are wrong.
And the real problem is that they did a one solution nationwide answer. They out new flow restrictions on all showers and faucets and they suck. I remove them all prior to installation. My tankless hot water heater would not function properly because the flow was so low. I removed the flow restriction device on the shower head and it works wonderfully. It’s all about reducing water usage.

I'm pretty confident Kash will be confirmed. Tulsi and Kennedy were more of a wild card.@Dr. Evil and @stokes, in regards to your 'agreed to disagree' conversation, my optimistic take on the Trump win and continued winning is this. Trump's cabinet appointees, save Matt Gaetz, are all being confirmed. In light of all the DOGE enlightened findings, I fully expected more push back from the RINO's and career Republicans on the appointee confirmations.
The fact that virtually all are being confirmed gives me a huge amount of joy and optimism going forward. I was somewhat expecting the slight to marginal majorities in both Houses to go the way Pence did in January of 2021.
So yes, I'm encouraged, a lot.
I want to see Kash confirmed tomorrow and I'll do cartwheels. IMO he's the last big piece of the puzzle.
MAGA Baby!
Don't forget the wildcards of Hegseth and Bondi.I'm pretty confident Kash will be confirmed. Tulsi and Kennedy were more of a wild card.
So he was confirmed?
No, made it through committee. So he was confirmed?
I dont consider it a "disagree" thing, I'm just not as excited about the lawsuit angle as he and others here are. Not that I think its a bad thing, the lawsuits that is, just dont think it will mean a whole lot, in the end. In my view these lawsuits are not even a speed bump to Horechul and her dirtbag crew. They will never agree to any out of court settlement, which is quite common when the state is sued, and they will just drag it out til Trump is out of office and beyond. The state will foot the legal fees, and none of it will impact them in the pocket. Indictments are the only thing that will wake them up.@Dr. Evil and @stokes, in regards to your 'agreed to disagree'
This should be big. Hopefully he and Bondi will get the real deal rolling.I want to see Kash confirmed tomorrow and I'll do cartwheels. IMO he's the last big piece of the puzzle.
You people really never learn, do you??I'm pretty confident Kash will be confirmed. Tulsi and Kennedy were more of a wild card.
So he was confirmed?
You people? That's racist. You people really never learn, do you??
How many times do I need to be correct before you all realize... I know what I am talkin about.
I said it nearly 2 months ago and I stand by it....
All of his picks will be confirmed.
