Hmnn, I consider the classic 1911 as a separate beast to what I am talking about here. I'm basically talking about aquring a mild race gun for range use and the 2011 in my mind is the preeminent example of the type. However......

Either of those could fit the bill also.
They are simply factory comped Beretta 92XIs which is the SAO version of the 92.
I like the grips on the red one better even if the trigger looks a little garish. Much cheaper than the Bul Armory as well @ $1,400-$1,500.

Ehh I have been running a double stack version of the 1911 since 1997( Para Ordnance, BUL M5, Springfield High Capacity 1911), aside from the wide body magazine and frame they are no different than the single stack version.

It's a shame Para Ordinance isn't around anymore. Their wares seemed to be of high quality but of reasonable price. Did they make a single stack 1911 too? I'd like a traditional yet more than GI spec .45 that doesn't cost a fortune and the Para models seemed to suit that niche perfectly. I'll have a look on the secondary market.

Yeah, I have guide a few of them and at least one in every size from the P14-45 to the P10-45 Warthog. I do like to shoot and carry the P12 sized gun. I only have one Para frame made in the USA ( PARA-USA) every other one was made in Canada.

@Saltwater60 The one thing you never want to do is take an LDA apart.

I have a P14-40 it is a P12 size gun but in 40. Great gun to shoot.

I thought the grips on my p-14 would be standard 1911 but the replacements didn't fit. I ended up using them on a Girsan.

I ran into the same issue. There is almost no one that makes grips for para ordnance pistols. I wanted some nice wood grips for mine and they didn’t exist when I looked.

Mines the P-12 but I’ll take a look. Been a few years since I looked.
Wasn’t on your link but I found some G10 grips on Amazon and bought them.
