When they're not releasing violent felons from prison, (who should have been executed in the first place) back on the streets, they're creating lots and lots of brand new potentially violent felons who are never going to submit to this in order to get a gun, and who have a burning hate for the traitors who betray them year by year.
The black market is going to go boom. Business opportunities for the unscrupulous and the enterprising are going to blossom. Once law-abiding citizens who believed in the "system" will be buying their toys by hook or by crook, and the plain fact of the matter is that NY will not be able to stop the flow of "illegal" firearms anymore than they can right now.
The pathetic thing is, everyone knows that even if something like this doesn't pass this year, or three years from now, it will eventually.
And the powers that be who held their breath for a few years after they passed UnSafe to see if the wingnuts were going to get sporty know that NYers are whipped curs, and that fact makes the fascists that run this state lick their lips at the prospect of further grinding this state under their jackboot, knowing that there are not checks nor balances against their machinations while assuming there will be no blowback whatsoever.
At least, not until they start spilling blood, which is inevitable.
