Many Law Enforcement Agencies have civilian employees. It means they are employed and work for the NYS troopers but are not police or peace officers. Many IT, consultants, and dispatchers are these civilian employees. I’ll agree it sounds like a mess and I’m guessing they thought Brandon would just go away but not him!!
I remember back when I applied for my NY CCW, that the newly hired 100% civilian dispatchers for the OPPD had just gotten THEIR CCW's. The Lt. who did my background check told me that THEY had all applied for their CCW's and, of course, theirs were granted on a very expedited basis. IIRC, they got theirs in a matter of weeks, or even sooner. Not so the rest of us. Shit, the PPO under Wilmer Fowler fucked with me when I told them the law gave them 6 months maximum, when they instead told me that they were going to take 12-18 months to give me mine.
Yep, nothing like those wanna be cop civilians strutting around behind the bulletproof glass in the OPPD station with their Glocks openly strapped to their legs like they were SWAT officers. I would bet that the Trooper "civilians" handling all of this NICS check and ammo purchase crap are no different as they likely strut around in their secure spaces around while strapped, and feeling superior to all of us.

I attended the G&S gun show in Conway, AR this past Sunday. I have been there several times as a vendor but not this time. I did not buy any guns or ammo but sold a Rock Island Armory 51431 ROCK Standard FS 45ACP. I got 100% of my money back, maybe plus a few cents. I had three of them, I purchased one on Halloween in 2016, then I bought two more in July 2023. Recently I wound up needing to replenish some cash that I had spent on gun stuff for my firearms hobby (or should I say addiction
); so, I decided to sell one of the the newer ones (unfired in the box with everything that was in the box from the factory) to recoup some of the cash. I was not looking to make a profit but am guessing I easily could have gotten $25 to $50 more for it since I originally bought it at a great sale price.
I may go to a gun show in Mena, AR this weekend; not sure I can get away though. Gun show or not, I very much would like to see the area around Mena, it is supposed to be very nice country but a gun show there at the same time I visit would be a big plus.

Went to the gun show in Islip NY ; absolutely pathetic ! No more ammo for sale, overpriced rifles ,the only knives were cheap gas station knives,and military gear.And of all things,people selling brass knuckles and those leather covered spring billies w the lead top,both of which are illegal. How about a 10 rd AR15 magazine for 45.00 ? What a friggin joke !
