Ohhh this reminds of something I heard at one of the town hall meetings our Sheriff puts on. Someone spoke up telling him she sees unmarked white busses showing up late at night at the Weiss market on Front St. Says they do this at least a couple times a week. When they seen they were being watched one night they moved to the back of the building. The Sheriff told his Sgt to take all the info down, he'll be sending cars by frequently to check it out. Yet not more than an hour ago I arrived in Ecuador. I had to go through immigration and customs. Strange a country that they are coming to the USA from has borders and laws. It will be interesting to see what they are leaving.

I’d charge that at the minimum. Many reports of them damaging hotel rooms and that’s expensive then repairs take time and lost wages/income. Between food and housing $600/day isn’t unreasonable for hotels to be charging. Can you imagine the maid staff OT? I’d personally just deny them entry into my establishment and be done with it. It’s not worth it one bit.

Can verify increased sheriff presence on Front St. I take deliveries that way with some regularity and have noticed several sheriff vehicles hanging around. One was even parked in the loading dock I had to deliver to, though he moved when he saw me coming.

Now you see why it’s $600/ day. How long do you think it takes a maid to adequately clean this up? 2, 3, 4 hours. Also what is broken? This makes me sick that we are allowing this to happen and nothing will happen to them. If this was you and me we would be charged for these damages and we are in this case even though we didn’t cause the damage. This baffles my mind. From what I'm told here in ecuador they are having problems because of our border being open. Migrants are coming into ecuador to make money for the trip up. The cartels are here so crime is a problem. They have open border agreements with other countries down here and people are taking advantage of this. Homelessness is higher than the past too. Our border causes a ripple effect all the way down here. And what really grabs my balls is $1.75/gal for diesel. WTF. And one of if not the most expensive properties in ecuador is the us ambassadors. He's living just fine down here.

It seems price fixed, probably by the government. They are an oil producer which I never knew. I believe only super is not capped or subsidized. It's a different world down here. The people seem happy which is hard to understand. I think our rat race is not even close to their life. I do kind of get it.

SA1 permits counties and municipalities to hire non-citizens as deputy sheriffs and police officers in the same manner as hiring U.S. citizens, as long as they are: “legally authorized under federal law to work in the United States and is authorized under federal law to obtain, carry, or purchase or otherwise possess a firearm, or who is an individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process and is authorized under federal law to obtain, carry, or purchase or otherwise possess a firearm”
I always thought that a person had to be a citizen of the United States to legally possess a gun.

Making noncitizens law enforcement officers is absolutely disgusting. Note aliens with immigrant visas can generally buy and possess guns on the same basis as noncitizens. All other legal immigrants just need to get a hunting license (any hunting license, any state) and they can legally buy or possess firearms too (though transfers of ownership would have to go through an FFL). Illegal immigrants are federally prohibited persons. Whether DACA illegals are still considered prohibited has gone back and forth. But an illegal who successfully wins asylum wouldn’t be considered illegal and prohibited anymore, or an illegal who normalized their status through marriage etc.
