I went to Albany several times. Messed up the lawn and everything. Sure a few Repubs came out and said that they heard us and all will be well but that was it. I hardly think anyone at the Federal level will give a shit. Especially since the media is on their side.

Best thing to do in my opinion, and as much as I hate to say this, is get an NRA membership if you don't already have one. Or if you really don't like them get a membership in a 2A organization of your choice. Gun Owners of America and the 2nd Amendment Foundation are both good choices in my opinion. If you write a physical letter to a representative be sure to say how much you support 2A rights. If you're donating to a candidate, be sure to include a note inside that says you expect them to defend 2nd Amendment rights (this is something I do).

Will it make a difference? Who knows, but the days of wasting our times at rallies are over. We'll all be painted us a bunch of inbred rednecks anyway.

At our GOA/Patriots meeting last Tuesday the discussion of a rally took place. The time loosely set for September after Labor Day. The location within a 15 mile radius of the intersection of I-81 & I-90.

That is where we stand in CNY so far.

Now all and everyone answer me this. How many of you can be there? There is plenty of time to begin to plan the road trip. Election season will be in full swing. Centrally located in Central New York State!

I would like to say to the chairman of the local GOANY chapter that I know of 15 people that will attending and all of them are bringing two friends. In order for a grassroots rally like this to be successful organizers need to know people will show up. If there is no visable support for what is being said then WTF?

A rally would be good for us we need to be heard just as well as all the other screaming voices are being heard. So give it some thoughts mates. Tell others. Get back to this thread or PM me.

This is where it starts.

An unarmed rally is a complete and total waste of time in the state of New York. We are so outnumbered politically and under-represented that we only get labeled a vocal minority and they ignore us. Most of us were part of the multiple rallies held in Albany and nothing happened. Now on the federal level conventional Rally's might have some benefit if we made the politicians fear for their seats, and if there were tens of thousands of Americans marching on Washington they may get the hint, but I have a little faith in that as I've already shown their true colors.

I think that’s a part of the problem. Many of us gun folk are also hard working people with less than ample free time. I would have a hard time going to any kind of rally. Especially on a Saturday. And I can’t be away from home for more than about 12 hours.

It is necessary to make personal sacrifice to advance a cause. Finance and family will have to suffer for even a chance at a greater good.
