We were the reason Russia invaded Georgia. US troops were there and abandoned their vehicles, We came nose to nose with them in Georgia. and guess what else? They were planning on joining NATO , what a coincidence. almost like what they did in Ukraine.

Did you look at a map? How in the world could we fight the Russians in Georgia? 100% of all supplies would have to be flown in The Russians would close the Bosphorus straights in the black sea and any ship would would face land sea and air missile strikes. It would ridiculously hard and costly.

There were plenty of European countries that should have stepped against Hitler if they didn't like what Germany did back then. Just because they sucked at war fighting doesn't mean it becomes our fight.
We rebuilt the world after the big war and everyone has been sucking at our tit ever since. If Europe has a problem with Putin they shouldn't let him heat their homes. They have to get real.
China is already in South America. Iran is is South America. They can have it.

Being in someplace is not the same as conquering it by force.
That's why NATO in Ukraine would not have been the same thing as Russia is doing. The difference is that NATO would have been invited.
Whether it was our fight or not at the beginning is irrelevant. It sure as hell ended up being our fight at the end. Better to nip that shit in the bud rather than letting it escalate.
This will obviously spread until it's contained.
Really, read some history about the 1930's. Japan and Italy being allowed to run rampant essentially laid out an invitation for Hitler to do the same.
Imagine a small community in some post apocalyptic world, less than 300 families and nothing like cops.
But, you're family is bigger and is better armed than the next 10 families put together.
Now, imagine family #3 starts murdering and enslaving some of the smaller families and taking their stuff.
Everyone knows family #2 is looking at their neighbors place and thinking it would make a great slave quarters

In all honesty I don't have all the answers. I don't know all the information. I really don't. I do however acknowledge that there is a crazy amount of propaganda, lies and deliberately misleading stories coming from both sides.
I do not want Russia attacking a sovereign peaceful country that was not threatening it directly.
I also do sympathize somewhat with Russian concerns about NATO continually expanding closer and closer. If the situation was reversed and NATO broke up and the Soviet bloc was expanding to Mexico, panama, cuba, Iceland and Venezuela we would be like WTF the cold war is over what are you doing. That is real. NATO in my honest opinion is sticking it's nose where it shouldn't trying for a provocation to justify it's existence and the defense industry.
If we were clear and said unequivocally "Ukraine will not be admitted into NATO, period". I really think Russia would not have attacked them.
So yes, I think countries should stand up to dictators attacking other countries. But Putin is not Hitler. Not literally nor figuratively. An asshole? Sure no argument here.
Like it or not Russia has the most nukes in the world. They aren't going anywhere. We have to find a way to coexist with them because conflict will likely escalate very quickly and the literal survival of our country and the world would hang in the balance.
I'm pretty sure all the governments involved here suck and are full of psychopaths looking for war or corrupt thugs. It's all the citizens who will suffer as a result of their actions.
