UK has a sufficient air force to do a lot of damage to Russia without committing ground troops.
Even a single F35 squadron running SEAD in Ukraine would then allow the Ukranians to use their MIGs much more aggressively in a ground attack role.
It would be devastating for the Russians.
Russia basically can't do anything to the UK *except* nukes.
