Well you dont really have to, And on that note, Zelensky signs his own death warrant. If zelensky is in the way for a peace agreement between US and Russia , they will draw straws to see who gets to whack him.
In my opinion, Putin is dragging it out buying time for a spring summer Offensive which should drive the nail in the coffin for Ukraine

Trump is being played here, The Russians have no intention of making a deal unless its on the most favorable grounds to them and meeting their goals. The British are already talking about sending in peace keeping troops which is what The Russians didnt want to begin with So thats not going to help . The Russians will stall, agree, reject, agree stall reject until they are on the Dnipro river. Unless they are willing to launch nukes on Russia and start WW3 , the Russsians are going to dictate how it goes when it goes period.
The French Germans and the Ukrainians have all failed , and the Brits will be next to fail if they start getting froggy , the Russians have 700,000 troops in Ukraine and 1 million in reserve in anticipation of a NATO conflict. Just call it a day.

Played? I doubt it. But it is the beginning of getting to the right place. What real attempts have been done since sitting still and allowing it to take place? “Don’t” worked really well I think. Knowing what one side expects and is willing to do is 50%. I understand Zalinski’s anxiety as well, but I’m guessing the both sitting across from each other right now may be a bad move. Step one, Boss to boss discussion. Step two, the other Boss to Boss discussion. There in begins a dialog. The bodies are stacked already. THAT isn’t working. Noone is making progress. In fact, Russia is having to borrow bodies. A lot of other folks are giving weapons they have trouble replacing. Only a couple small players and one big one benefits from that. The loss of accountability of money and weapons is huge right now. I’m all for coming to a resolution.

The bottom line is that the US is completely in charge here.
We will decide how this ends.
If we cut off Zelensky, then Putin can roll over him sooner or later.
If we decide Putin is done, then he's done.
If we decide to roll him back to the 2014 borders, then we'll roll up the Russian war machine like a cheap rug.
Trump is a smart businessman, he is talking to both sides to determine what is the optimal course of action *for us*.

Still, if the end result is a peace deal it's a political victory for Trump whenever it happens. He can claim he had stopped the biggest and most costly war in Europe since WWII.
One would be hard pressed to find a more deserving candidate for Nobel Peace Prize.

On the agenda is going to be US/Russia relations. Ukraine is only a part of it. Even if the agreement on Ukraine is not reached, there are other issues that can be resolved.

I do not think so. Trump and Putin are pals, they see things very much the same as each other.
I am almost positive all this has been discussed between the two of them. They will both come out of these peace deals looking strong and bold.
Something that so many do not understand about the Russian people, I have said this before.... The Russians are so very different than most other peoples. This heavy price, they are okay with the cost.
