The war had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11, WMDs, or any associations between Saddam Hussein and any terrorists. In fact, there was no direct rationale for the U.S. to be in Iraq at all. Yet, we are still there to this day after an aggressive regime change and years of fighting which destroyed a generation of Iraqis. Was there a massive global push to "cancel" the U.S. in retaliation? Nope. Actually, nothing happened.
Even today, I have not heard a single media pundit bring up the point that accusing Russia of "war crimes" is hypocritical given the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the damage it caused. Why is no one talking about this?

Frankly, I believe that all modern militaries are overrated in terms of effectiveness. Reliance on technology has pervaded the new military ethos and made them soft. This includes the U.S. military which just spent nearly 20 years fighting a war in Afghanistan with top-tier drone technology at their disposal, and to no avail. Russia's military is closest to the U.S. in terms of technological advantages, but I think a lot of people have watched far too many movies when it comes to war and their expectations of how an invasion is implemented.
Invasions are usually not successful in a few weeks. They take time.
For example, Russia is clearly trying to avoid civilian casualties as much as possible (at least compared to the initial invasion of Iraq by the U.S.). They have kept a large amount of infrastructure intact, including the power grid in many parts of the country, which is what I would have targeted first if I am to be honest about the strategic advantages. The fact that Ukraine has had internet this whole time, even without Elon Musk's Starlink system, boggles my mind. It's as if Putin is trying to drag out the war.
Also, note that Russia is operating around most major cities instead of through them. I'm not really seeing the actions of a vicious blitzkrieg here. This is more like a slow and methodical assault, taking the country piece by piece. My suspicion is that the "Russia has failed" narrative is designed more for the western audience to give us a false sense of security.

IMO the only possible scenario that DOES NOT lead to WW3 is if there is a near immediate peace agreement or cease fire and I think that unlikely. The evil globalists and neo cons simply do not want it to stop. I think they are not so subtly trying to get dragged into this mess.

Does anyone else have the feeling that the whole notion of ww3 having to be nuclear is bullshit? The idea of ww3 was birthed during the cold war, when everything was nuclear. They were even playing around with the idea of nuclear powered cars. So no stretch to surmise they where thinking nukes would be the go to for the next war... It just seems like the prescribed opinion here is that the second the US and Russia start shooting at each other, it will be less than 100 rounds of 5.56 shot before the first nuke flies. This just doesn't seem realistic to me. I can see nukes flying if a country thinks there is no other option, but to reach that point, they must be A: losing the war horribly and B: have no diplomatic way out and be facing annihalation.

I don't know how they are this bad at war. Most people expected Russia to steamroll through Ukraine (at least its east) in 2-3 days. Instead we've seen the greatest display of military ineptitude by a major nation in generations. I cannot readily think of another such blunder. If Russia wants to even exist after this they are going to have to do a complete post mortem on their entire military apparatus and government. At first it seemed like Ukraine was lucky but now it seems like Russia is systemically terrible at what they are doing.
Having one of their large supply ships blown up at port in an area they ostensibly control because they posted it on media is a horrific loss and a great symbol of what they are.
