Better them than us. It's about time the Europeans stepped up.A group of Nato countries may be willing to put troops on the ground in Ukraine if member states including the US do not provide tangible security guarantees to Kyiv at the alliance’s summit in Vilnius, the former Nato secretary general Anders Rasmussen has said.

Nato members may send troops to Ukraine, warns former alliance chief
Security guarantees and membership path needed at Nato summit to avoid escalation, says Anders Rasmussenamp.theguardian.com
Rasmussen said: “If Nato cannot agree on a clear path forward for Ukraine, there is a clear possibility that some countries individually might take action. We know that Poland is very engaged in providing concrete assistance to Ukraine. And I wouldn’t exclude the possibility that Poland would engage even stronger in this context on a national basis and be followed by the Baltic states, maybe including the possibility of troops on the ground.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he will chair a meeting Thursday of an emergency coordination panel with Ukraine on the "outrageous destruction" of a frontline dam.
The wrecking of the Kakhovka dam in the southern Kherson region unleashed waters "displacing thousands of people and causing an ecological catastrophe in Ukraine," he said in a tweet on Wednesday.
He added that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba would participate by video link in Thursday's meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.
Kuleba tweeted that the meeting was called at his request, and said Stoltenberg had promised "NATO mechanisms will be used to provide humanitarian assistance".

"I tell you, serving as a New York Times correspondent these days cannot be easy. You have to convey utter nonsense to your readers while maintaining a straight face and a serious demeanor. You have to suggest the Russians may have exploded a drone over the Kremlin, that they may have blown up their own gas pipeline, that their president is an out-of-touch psychotic, that their soldiers in Ukraine are drunkards using faulty equipment, that they attack with “human hordes” (Orientalism, anyone?) and on and on—all the while affecting the gravitas once associated with the traditional “Timesman.” You try it sometime.
I am reminded of that pithy passage in Daniel Boorstin’s regrettably overlooked book, The Image. “The reporter’s task,” Boorstin wrote in 1962, “is to find a way of weaving these threads of unreality into a fabric that the reader will not recognize as entirely unreal.”"
This was brought up on the Durant channel. Apperantly Russmusen is a paid consultant for the Ukrainian government, also during Poroshenko years. His statements have to be viewed in that light. He is representing Zelensky, not NATO.
After 5 days, looks more like they are afraid to commitLooks more like a recon in force to me.

3 leopards, several Bradley's maps are confirmed
I blame thier leadership, those boys had a lot of heart.I saw one picture where there was like 1 leopard and 4 Bradley's, and some other stuff like BMPs and Mraps all in a row burned out. Looks to me like their tank crews are seriously inexperienced and ineffective. That picture looked like a shit show of indecision and bad tactics.
It's a pretty bad look for the state of the Ukrainian army.
No fault of theirs I'm sure all their experienced crews have had serious attrition rates and the replacements just aren't the same training and capabilities
