Their "high tech" drones come from Iran and they are getting ammunition from North Korea. They may win this war but it certainly hasn't positioned them as superpower by any means.

Who will replace their stockpiles first after the war is over? Both Russia and NATO countries are depleting their stockpiles.
We are going through hundreds of multi million dollar missiles shooting down houthi drones. that's not doing us any favors either.
The country that produces most will be better positioned in the future. Russia is producing munitions probably 5x the rate of the west. They have the supply chain capacity.

I don't know if it's factual or was fake news, but the idea of signing a peace accord, freezing the conflict lines as they are, and establishment of a DMZ buffer zone sounds like a great way to end this conflict and Ukraine won't like it but the pragmatic reality is they will still have a country and still have some men left in it to rebuild.
Russia made it clear, it will adhere to all of the stated goals of their special military operation.
1. No NATO presence in Ukraine EVER. (not just 20 years)
2. Complete de-Nazification, i.e. ban on Nazi ideology.
3. Guaranteed equal right for Russian speaking population and protection of Russian language and culture.
4. Four regions in the East joining Russian Federation. Entire territory of these regions.
Going back to 2014 and even prior, every time the West is escalating this conflict, Russia ends up gaining. Too many people have died for the West to dictate anything. The West is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Germany banned Nazi ideology, so did a number of countries. It doesn't get rid of it, but it curtails criminal and brazen behavior of its followers.

Honestly, what is the benefit to Russia in all of this ? What does it really matter if NATO is in Ukraine, or just Finland.
It reversed the process of Western Domination and control.
Geographical shape of Russia makes invasion through Ukraine much harder to defend against than invasion through Finnish border.
In a perfect world it wouldn't be a concern because we would have welcomed Russian cooperation and formed some sort of loose alliance with them. Russia should be our ally and should be aligned with us focused on countering china.
Imagine how much different the world could be right now if NATO let Russia play in the sandbox and we all got along and we were all aligned to keep China from trying to become dominant.

Russia wanted partnership and U.S. wanted domination. This misalignment is what deteriorated relations to the worst ever.
Initially Russians were so fascinated with the West, that they looked the other way when we broke our promises, back stabbed them, crapped on their history, and treated them unfairly. This went on for years, until they had enough.
