You need to be reminded how U.S. couldn't win Korean war, even before NK had nukes.
We "could" have but chose not to do what was needed. And don't forget about literal human waves of screaming china men pouring over the yellow river heading southward.
But I'm certainly not discounting Nk Today. They are an impoverished hard militaristic culture where duty and sacrifice are engrained in the DNA from birth. They lack sophistication but make up for it in intangibles. In a straight up fight with no allies just NK vs SK I think I like NKs chances if I had to bet and choose one.
This isn't just Bullshit other countries are trying to warn their citizens.
Sweden and Finland telling residents to stock up on supplies and essentials to prepare for war.

And you need to be reminded that the only reason the US hasn't obliterated every enemy since WWII is that we just didn't want to kill too many of them.
Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc... were all a matter of is deciding we're not going to just kill them all.
