Sadly it's probably not a joke.
Probably a crap ton of lawyer and legal fees and insurance, testing and development from the manufacturer all rolled in to the sale price. To get a gun intended to shoot someone in a less than lethal role probably has a lot of administrative costs all riled into the purchase price.

The VKS seems to be nothing more than a paintball gun. I'm not sure what those a running these days. The Mil Sim ones can be pricey. The electronic ones can be very pricey.

Just use Resiniferatoxin instead of Capsaicin. 10% in DMSO should be pretty effective if you fill a 68 cal paintball with it.
Just hope nobody needs to use that room for the next month or two LOL
For those who don't want to bother following the link, it's about 500-1000x as potent as Capsaicin. Probably fatally so in gram quantities, but effective in micro-gram quantities.

Interesting, another option, very nice. See, there is always more than one way to skin a cat. Only thing, and excuse my ignorance, the Resiniferatoxin doesnt need to be ingested, correct? It would "work" by inhaling ? I was just wondering cause it mentions above about Capsaicin causing burning pain when ingested. Just wondering bro.

I believe it only needs skin contact and moisture. I would expect DMSO would enhance that effect.
I think inhalation would be absolutely debilitating, possibly fatal even in microscopic quantities due to just swelling and irritation.
The mention of ingestion was just for comparison sake.
It has the same mechanism of action and other chemical properties as capsaicin, so it would work the same, just in much smaller quantities.
