To me, the best thing we can to is to handwrite the re-cert form.
If you input all the data about your guns online and hit send, you have just done all their work for them. FOR FREE!

Instant addition to a NY Gun owners database and confiscation list. Which is (as far as I can see) the only reason for this whole thing. One big confiscation list at their fingertips. At least in Florida or Pennsylvania when I have to "renew" it is about revenue. I send in a check and they renew. Not one serial number is axed for. If any of you think it is anything other than that, then explain to me why this is a good thing.

So input the data online and hit send. You just saved NY State Police money and they won't have to axe for more next year.
And.......for those of us that do mail it in, keep a copy. Typos happen.

I disagree with what you have laid out here. They hold no power here they only power they have is what you give them. I'm not arguing if you should or shouldn't re-register that's been argued to death already. I'm talking about mucking up their system to the point that it is ineffectual.

This whole concept has nothing to do with the individuals processing permits. Yes it will inconvenience them and not piss off the people that we need it to. Once again the whole point of gumming up the process as much as possible is to de-legitimize the system.

We have historical example of this sort of resistance bringing down similar systems. If you look at Canada this is why their system ultimately failed. Also we have already seen how poor anything to do with the safe act has rolled out. Because of this I believe if we actively gum up the works this system will fail miserably.

Do whatever is best for you and your family but personally I will do my part to gum up the works.

^^^^ possibly this. Not this year, or next. Possibly not this decade or in any of our lifetimes. However, they have now set the stage to be able to confiscate all the LEGAL guns. The guns that, for the most part, don't have anything to do with the problems they (anti's) claim.

The problem with the "recert" is that the dems/libs have been chipping away, eroding the rights of gun owners for almost 100 years. This particular edict is particularly disturbing because it gives them the means to their ultimate goal.....no LEGAL guns allowed for any law abiding citizen.

Best possible outcome, you have the certified mail proving you sent the renewal, so you are covered, but they don't have the record of you in the database.....

The guys processing renewals get paid by the hour, whether they get 1000 people added to the database in a day, or 10 they gett paid the same, so you aren't really hurting them. How effective that database is, and how difficult it is to fund is directly affected by how efficient they are.
