I've never had an issue with them. Have kept up with my pangs just fine. That being said my buddy ordered some same time as I did and not a single one works for shit for him. I keep them around for plinking, and practicing drills, but wouldn't trust them for anything important
That's awfully cheap! Even if they were only fit to be range mags its still a good deal.

I went ahead and bought them. The owner even swapped 1 of the mags for a gen 2 Hexmag...(if it even matters) since i was asking too many questions. I guess he really wanted to get rid of them.
If they are crap well i am only out of 50 bucks with tax. I will try them.

I've got one, but never used it. I use the magpul on my ar.
Whats unSAFE act have to say on the simultaneous possession of 10/30 mags and standard 30 round followeres and springs? Is it the same as the NFA and the simultaneous ownership of rifle caliber "pistols" and stocks for said "pistols"?

I use them with my pistol and rifle. They've been great for me. Didn't know there were different generations of them, but there's a few excellent torture tests with major AR platform magazines and the hexmags were one of those that came out on top. Frankly, I use them because I like the hex pattern look feel and grip, and the polymer doesn't bend like aluminum GI mags can. They can get bashed far worse and even shot at and still function, that's good enough for me. At the end of the day, I'm not brand loyal and don't actually give a shit.

Yes will. My post above. "Explain"....i figured you knew a better spring for better performance based on the feedback i have recieved so far which is 50/50.
If they don't work call hexmag. A buddy picked up a few for him and me and they wouldn't drop free. He called and gave them the serial number. They were gen 1 and they knew they had a bad batch. They sent us gen 2 replacements and those work fine.

The ones I have seem to fed fine, although the lips seems pretty wiggly and they are nowhere near dropping free. My other mags, some asc steel 10's and an mft 10 all drop free, so I don't think my lower is out of spec. Basically the only point is the obvious shtf capability and that you can TRAIN TO GRAP THE MAG NORMALLY.

Just got back from the range with the wife. I was having fun while she took notes lol. Took some blue tape to mark every mag accordingly and keep track of the results.
I tested a total of 6 mags including the 1 G2 mag my LGS swapped. I fired a total of 540 rounds (armscor 223 soft point 55gr) with two different rifles (AR-15 and a Tavor). My results....
4 G1 hexmags x 90 rounds each NO issues.
1 G1 hexmag x 90 rounds had 14 failure to feed. AR-15 (6) Tavor (8)
1 G2 hexmag had x 90 rounds had 8 failure to feed AR-15 (6) Tavor (2)
I prefer my magpul but for 50 bucks no way i will complain. I still have another 6 to test but all the fun today left my pocket about 210 bucks short so testing the other 6 will be @ a later date.

33%+ failure rate! That kinda sucks.
As i said. Hexmags suck.
Seems that 100% of your gen 2 mags failed. Maybe gen 1 are the way to go.
For me, related to mags, any failure is unacceptable. No matter how cheap they are.

I hear you and agree. I will not invest in more but will not cry over 50 bucks.
I still have another 6 to test. We will see about those. The G2 performance was completely unacceptable. The G1...well...the results are mixed just like you and many others posted in this thread.
Either way i will have a blast again testing the other 6 when the time comes.

I would sell the other "new" ones online. Dont test em. Sell em for just under msrp or map. Use the cash and buy good mags.
