Thousands of lawful California gun owners are being denied ammunition purchases. Here’s why
Between July 1 and November, nearly one in every five ammunition purchases was rejected by the California Department of Justice, the figures show.
People left empty-handed because their personal information hadn’t been entered into the state’s system, or the information on their identification cards didn’t match what officials had entered into the California gun registry database, which retail sellers must review when they do the ammunition background check.

I would say the system is working as intended but that's probably wrong. My sense is the goal is to reject 4 out of every 5.

But if you have more Ammo than all your neighbors you have a lot better chance to survive. I look at all my neighbors and some have guns but very little Ammo. I have Ammo for self defense and .22 LR for hunting neighborhood critters. I have larger caliber ammo for self defense and big game too. I bet because of that I will out live most all my neighbors if the SHTF and then I’ll have most other stuff in the neighborhood because the houses will be empty. Out of all my neighbors I know of 2-3 others that have guns. The one guy I’ll bet has a brick of .22’s and a few boxes of shotgun shells. The other guy has a black riffles matters sticker on his truck so who knows about him. We can share though.
