Note to self.... Self, don't make smart-assed comments in threads that have turned gay. Got it!
Lol how would you pass the time while working? By working?
So you just assumed @Magnus 's gender?
So, maybe I'm missing something, but if someone's bleeding out heavily to the point where they could use a tourniquet and you don't have one, and it's just you and the injured person, can't you just roll up a t-shirt lengthwise until it's basically like a rope and make due with that until medical help gets there? I'm sure if it was an auto accident, you could probably find a broken twig/stick nearby to twist it tighter if needed, or anything else inside a car at your disposal for twisting it. I'm able to cut of the blood to my leg quite easily with just a t-shirt. Hell, if you had a knife, you could probably start cutting your jeans and using them in the same fashion too if the bleeding kept going. I usually carry bandanas too, and I can just fit them around my upper leg enough to secure a knot too. Even if they serve for applying more pressure and to soak up some of the blood.
Wait who says you cant do any of that?
Nobody I guess? so I suppose in the event you don't have one, many people will still have the ability to make one in a matter of seconds.
Yes but my point is something as small as a SOFT-T Wide, why risk some makeshift bs
Because if it weren't now blatantly obvious, if you didn't have one at your disposal, you'd still have the ability to make one very quickly. I don't always drive a car or carry a backpack. You know, life gets in the way of things?
Lol. Here's my opinion on it. In the car, that's great. Why not? It isn't taking up space and may one day come in handy. That was my whole point of this post, a while back I started thinking of carrying one on me. Hell was going to flatpack on for my back pocket but now that I know how much it will piss @Willjr75 off I'm going to use an ankle kit.
And since I took my sweet time to actually get one for edc there just happened to be a time when one would have been handy to have

As far as carrying all kinds of crap on your body in holsters, it's a bit much. Ridiculous even. Off duty EMT's or doctors don't do that.
As others have said, many things can be used to improvise and off duty EMT's and doctors do just that.
You don't think it's a bit ridiculous to have all that crap on your body? You already carry a full sized pistol with a light, and red dot that most cops never do. You carry a first aid kit on you ankle. What's next. A compact fire extinguisher? How about a defibrillator? Jaws of Steel? You see where I'm getting with this?
Just live your life and do what you can.
